Good morfnoevight all you happy Caturday stoners!

Ordered some elk and bison meat to refill the freezer :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :pass:
Frank where do you get the elk? I have not tried any for many years since no one in the family hunts any longer. I may be able to eat it without setting off my IBS.
Here’s a question for all those that use a tent humidifier in your grow…..

…..how often do you clean them?

:pass:
I clean and install a new filter element with every grow. I add H2O2 weekly to the reservoir to keep it sanitary.
If you treat your machine right you would only have to wipe it down between grows. Ultrasonics are much easier to keep clean. They also put out more humidity and can raise the RH a lot better than the wicking filter style. The wick is just a towel and fan style unit and the filter/wick gets funky. The ultrasonics you have to use RO or distilled water or you get white dust on everything from vaporizing the minerals generally found in tap water.

I think almost all of them are ultrasonics now. Just find one with a mechanical on/off switch and you can let it control itself with an inkbird power strip humidity device. Yeah, extra $$ but lasts and you get easy maintenance.

After that, you can add these in tank bacterial inhibitors. I've seen them on the shelf at target in the humidifier section.

But yeah, you should get one. I think. Especially if you already have an RO unit. If not you will end up buying several jugs of distilled water from the store.
Ultrasonics could not keep up with the demand in my grow room in the summer. The RH can go to ZERO outdoors here in the San Joaquin Valley I converted this to a mini swamp cooler with water pumped over the top of the filter.

I can easily go through 3 or more gallons a day to keep the RH at 50%

I put Pollock fish in the food processor with egg, potato starch and some GF flour to form patties then I breaded them with GF Panko and fried them to make Fillet-o-fish sandwiches They were so delicious. The fries weren't done yet.

I ate too many fries so my BG was high for quite a while.

Breakfast this morning low on the carbs.

I order from a place called “Elk USA”….. although I caution you. It is farm raised elk, meaning they are sometimes given a grain supplement. I suspect it will give you problems… :pass:

Waiting to see what pops brings home!

This place is opening a new location like 5min from me but its not open yet! Instead they have the employees training for opening by making free catering orders to local businesses and my pops hotel is a location getting food every day! They didn’t do lunch today and instead are doing dinner and since some employees are gone for the day they said should be enough for pops to bring home some extras!

When I first started growing Autos in 2020 I started with a 2x2 and a small humidifier. I used water out of the faucet and after a few weeks I noticed a white film all over everything in the tent. I researched and found out my source of the problem. Talk about a pain in the ass to clean up and a lesson learned.

Calcium buildup but it comes off quick with vinegar! Best to not use tap water and just avoid it!
