There was a guy here years ago that built one out of an old dresser… one of those short and wide ones….. he glued the drawer faces in place and gutted it….. when you pulled it out it revealed several small autoflowers under lights….

How are you? How bad is the cabin leaking?

Pffft.... ...the big window had a small leak since it was replaced really...but one of those things...that the rain only comes from that direction every 4 years..you know..

So each time we'd dry it up....and hubby would go around with mastic.. thinking it was done...until the next time.....you know those intermittent fault things..?..

The storm came..the window leaked..pulled the big L shaped settee out..stuck towels all over the floor..mop..mop..mop..shoved the settee back...make a note to get someone down to fix it...no big shakes.....7-10 days ago..

So I pulled Gus's side out of the settee out Tuesday to replace the blanket....and the wall/flooring is thick with black mold......the rain must have penetrated the cabin skin...run the length of a baton by the looks of it...and just oozed water ..and because the settee is in the way.. I didn't see it happening....

Bad..but not bloody disastrous......so I shouts hubby over to see and says..we are going to have to get a builder in now..this is too big for you to do...and WW3 broke out...

He doesn't cope with stress anymore..it just sets him off catastrophising...and he blows a gasket...and he's incredibly hard to live with....

... even with the amount of good dope I've got.....

All he has to do is ask one of his builder mates to come down..and either say yes I can..or no I can't..and apart from trying to find the money..there is nothing else...no work or pressure for him.

And yes..I know a cabin isn't a house..(repeated over and over like am an idiot..)..so a builder might not be able to fix it..but I bet he knows a man that can...coz the builders mix with all the trades....right...and..they are all friends that would be more than happy to check it out...for the cost of a cup of coffee..

Now..wait...if it is that easy for him...why don't I just do it...?... it's easy enough for me to get the local business directory and do exactly the same..if i ring a local builder and tell him what the job is...and he'll either say I'll come down and have a look..or not our kind of job..you need a carpenter..or whatever....dead simple..

It wouldn't bother me a bit...but when I've tried it before he takes the gee and trolls me all the way through it...sigh.. can't win situation...

I try my hardest not to bite...but I did screech back at him Tuesday night........and judging by Gus's face.. it's the first time he's seen me pop off since we got him.....but I'd had enough......


I'll get me own back......... when we get a builder down... I'll ask for an estimate to widen the cess tank opening......when hubby is in earshot..


Coz the bugger knows that's where he heading if he keeps on...but I'd never get his shoulders down the opening we have now.....


And you wonder why #ISmokeDope ......

I was actually looking at the new cabins thinking for the hassle and the cost...it would be worth just buying a new one.......

Good morning all. Things are settling down a little. The kids' Mom is still in the county psych unit since last Friday and they haven't figured out what she needs. CPS got an order from a judge so I'm legal guardian for the kids for now, 6 and 8. I strung up my hammock at the kids' house a week ago to take care of great grandma with dementia, and the kids. The kids settled down enough to get them back to school yesterday. The jean-o girlz got pretty dry, but they recovered. I'm sneaking home every day now to water the girlz and shovel the wife's snow. I'll get a photo of the girlz later.
