Today's cannabis is 14% stronger than was smoked in the 70s

Although I'm old.......I was a late starter to cannabis and don't feel qualified to Answer this:
Is the cannabis we grow/smoke now a Lot Stronger than the cannabis grown in the 60-70's.....
....or is this just scare stories from scientists/government ....?I Know some of the bud shots from Cannabis Cup Winners are Shocking....
..tiny airy bud with no bikini trim....but hey...Beauty is no guarantee of potency..which Old Farts do we have around that might be able to give us an Answer from experience........?

Absolutely shameful to call yourself a grower in the slightest to produce and show that type of quality or lack thereof.
Absolute Joke if ya ask me. But I think a lot of people try and think of it in the past. I started smoking when I was 15-16.but when the brai is younger its hard to get past how really yum yum and high end good some of these were.younger brain means a stronger or purer buzz imo. but stronger thc but its almost impossible tio compare the goods back then to today effectively biased.

idk, i used to get pretty ...damned...stoned in the 70'z

Yes, hard to compare if I have to go on my experience. I started in the 60's....I remember gettiing high enough to completely disconnect from reality...but I was just starting so had no tolerance I suppose. And I only had access to the lower quality for the most part. Seems like breeders breed for thc to an extent so I wouldn't be surprised if weed has a thc content higher than the old stuff. I don't get any higher now than I did back then.

Started smoking 1963. and i would say smoked Mexican ditch weed until about 1965. then we started to see named strains like Ohocan mishmacan and Alcapulco gold. ya, i know the spelling is wrong. then 66 through 1969 started seeing hash, Thia stick, Maui WoWie, and Purple Afgani. Columbian gold
these were much stronger. BUT todays cultivars are definitley higher in thc content, at the same time our tolerance level has increased. so i would say that we get about the same high then as now. i try and stay away from extracts, rosin, shatter. it all will fuck with your tolerance level, and you will no longer enjoy bud.

Top Tip: Pre-roll your joints........you know you'll want some.....and you can't roll joints with finger trim on.
It sticks to the baccy...then it sticks the papers to your fingers......impossible job.
When the kids were little..and bored...me Mother used to stick their fingers in golden syrup...and give them a feather.....
every time they picked the feather off one finger...it stuck to another....Hours of Fun......

I cant roll joints at all (shame on me lol) , lazy me got the bong, if i want to do that or vape. With trim finger i could not even fold the papers and stick to my face the papers instead, or use the trim finger to stick notices on the fridge.That gave me an idea lol for the next halloween comp, use golden syrup and roll in feathers or trim leaves to look like a plant or human bird.
That sounds fun the kids would have loved it, i know i would, still
Interesting article, i know the bushweed i get is pretty old, assume the seeds were brought in from Asia and crossed with a few strains. I found it very strong the first time i used it but i had no tolerance, that said not much difference between the stains ive tried now,. Ok I got a real efin weed story for ya. I am late 50's and tried weed at 16 and then started smokin. Seen alot smoked alot and some really good smoke and then I found a Standout. Late 80's a buddy at work who grows has some bad smoke. Never had anything like it before or since. He says it came from Nam in the early 60's and been cloned since. I smoked it for about 5 years and have never smoked anything close. Cough your brains out if you get greedy and a battery taste after. Me and T loved smoking with others to see if they could take 3 hits. Well I moved and lost touch did hear through the grapevine that a divorce was the final death of the breed whatever it was. So ya there was some badazz smoke back then its where it started
