Our real winter lasts for about 3 days......so a long fall, 30's to 70's and a long spring 40's to 70's..

I run a machine shop for my main source of income and my prices have soared over the last 3 years. I use to charge 65$ an hour for labor now Im charging 130$ per hour and my profits have shrunk! Im paying people with little to no skill starting at 18$ an hour it took me 15 years and a journeyman's card before I was making that. WTF..... Im one of the last mom and pop shops left in Jackson all of the rest have gone under in the last 3 years.

I feel for you mate. Keeping an operation like yours going these days must be a nightmare.

I see help wanted signs everywhere, and those are just the businesses that are still alive. This pandemic, in combination with predicable aging trends in the population have made chaos out of the labor market. There are going to be lots more go down before this shit show is really over.

Turned out not to be spark plug or filter on my lawnmower and instead it’s time to replace the POS plastic carburetor! Wouldn’t start so instead of 3 I went for 20 prime pumps and it fired up on 1st pull! I could take it apart and clean it but it’s $10 for the gasket kit to put it back together AND IT’S ONLY $13 FOR A WHOLE NEW CARBURETOR! I may be cheap but $3 is worth saving me a long ass process!
