To me grits are basically a transporter for flavors. They don't add much to the dish but when mixed with different flavors they do a good job of mimicking it. My kids like honey and cinnamon in their grits while I prefer a more savory flavor.

You are a one of a kind Fairlynew because most people I have talked with up north just gives me a strange look when I say grits, lol. The strangest thing I noticed when I was in Ontario was gravy on french fries. I would order fries at a restaurant and that was the first thing they would ask, do you want gravy with them? Hell no, I don't want gravy on my french fries I always thought.
 
Guilty as charged.
I'm a full on alkaloid addict.
All I grow are 1 million+ scoville heat unit peppers. Superhots.
Believe in the power of the pepper.

I've built up my tolerance to a point that even Thai hot doesn't make me sweat.
When there are "bugs" going around I start to boost my pepper intake.
I've found when everyone else is sick I'm still doing great.
Not much can survive the power of the pepper.

Grits we call it pollenta/corn meal . makes excellent lemon drzzle pollenta cake , corn fritters and corn bread with sweetcorn niblets and chilli flakes.

Italalians love pollenta heres a pic of an Italian pollenta party all served up on a slice of log.

That is pretty much it right there epenguin. My wife is cooking breakfast for dinner tonight so all this talk is getting me hungry.

I started out two years ago getting jalpeno begals i got one by mistake. I never before that day used any type of hot sauce. Now I am addicted to tobassco sauce I know there is hotter out her and one day I will try them. There is a guy in the states who has a hot sauce store you can by any and i think all the hot sauces that are made in this world it is his obsession. I am going to try and remember his web site he ships

Seriously who could ask for more, Live medical section on the week ends, live help 24/7,Foods from around the globe, chilli growers & hot sauce heads, petrol heads oh and did I mention we like auto's too?
all under one roof (well site, but you know what I mean) Don't get me started on the awesome members & Staff with some seriously out there humor (they got their props yesterday , don't want any heads to get any bigger , we all got some doors to walk through) lol
