(quote me)Anth, try the Internet Public Library. IPL2.org/newspapers.. (end Quote)

I should have added that in most cases you get to make a comment. Any informed voice out there helps. Those that don't allow comments are usually political rags.

I know reading is more of a hassle than vid
.

WOW!
How interesting of a statement
This has got to be generational.
I knew there were people that felt that way, but I hate trying to glean info by vid.
It is ponderously slow, you are forced to acquire the information at the rate of the vid and online it is not as easy to fast forward without bypassing stuff.
I can blaze through written material much faster, editing out the irrelevant info as I go.
Vids can be nice to back up what I have read

Grey Bear, You are right the way it reads, I should have explained that the hassle is having to pore over more info to get what we are looking for which takes more time. Rather than the reading itself. Considering our venue here, I figured the comfort with reading was a given. Vids are usually quicker to find the subject but not necessarily as detailed and their voracity can change depending on source easier than old established papers with reputations to protect. Thanks for pointing out my omission.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...-breast-cancer-smoked-cannabis-dull-pain.html

Ay look Cannabis meds used for breast cancer 2,500 YEARS ago...how the world has progressed huh..?..:dunno:

"Cannabis was buried with her and she may have sniffed it while alive" lmao daily mail don't want anyone to actually think she ate or smoked it, just a little sniff here and there, but there again it may not have been there as a cure or a pain killer..

Her use of drugs to cope with her illness may have given her "an altered state of mind", leading her Pazyryk culture kinsmen to the belief that she could communicate with the spirits,' said The Siberian Times.

Siberian cannabis is what we refer to as Ruderalis, don't think that is really gonna lead to an altered state of mind ,Siberian shamen have been using fly agaric for millenia to alter the state of the mind & to contact spirits.

It is possible that hemp was valued for it's fiber, oil, and as a food source and was why it was buried with her.

I also note they mentioned a stash of cannabis, the dictionary definition of stash is something which is secret and hidden. Surely if cannabis was put in her burial it wasn't something secret of hidden, but something to be taken to the after life and thought of as valuable and with health benefits or nutitional benefits etc . Another attempt to put a drug slant on to the story, after all it helps sell papers.

There was no mention of it helping cure breast cancer but as an aid to pain killing properties, however there is no evidence that it was used for either of these, it is just a best guess senario, because in our modern age we associate cannabis with drug use. The Emperors New Clothes reminds us it is a multi use plant with over 10,000 uses but the daily mail want us to think it was as a drug because it is the most sensational story.

As much as I like to read about cannabis used in times gone by, there is too much here that is open to interpretation and not enough research in to the why's and the where fores.

I would love to believe it was to cure cancer and that our ancestors had it all worked out, I'll wait until the evidence has been produced.

In no way do I want to upset the apple cart, but I also don't want to just believe anecdotal journalistic evidence from the "Siberian Times &"The Daily Mail".

Good morning AFN, hope everyone's well.

There is so much evidence out there to support cannabis and it's effects on cancer. Is it a "cure"? No, not yet, but nothing is up to now. It's a tool and I believe in canna enough to make oil to be used as part of my mums treatment. Let's not forget that cannabis WAS a drug prescribed by doctors until the 1970's.
The US is going to be the pioneer of canna/cancer research in my opinion, until the UK shakes this stigma, our cancer patients will be denied access to a potentially life changing (note I didn't say saving) treatment..
I find that to be a crazy notion....especially in 2014.

good morning group:tiphat: ok, I have a 50 year smoking record, (on and off), mostly on:grin:
at 58 I developed stomach cancer:no: now some people will say, it was because I smoked cannabis, that gave me cancer.....:dunno:to be honest, I don't know? but, I do know that I lean in the opposite direction, I think it would have been worse if I had not smoked cannabis. I do know , for a fact, that I am cancer free, going on five year's, and the intire time I have been medicating with cannabis, with great success :dance2:and it serve's many purpose's, it also was 100% effective in controlling, nausea and appetite loss, during my chemo treatment's:Sharing One:one of the oldtimer's out here, was the medicine man, most of you know him. he was a local cannabis care giver here in the state of maine, (started me off on auto's and afn) he had a group of patient's, that he grew for, made oil's and butter's for, one lady had some type of cancer, it was some bad shit!
he was giving her tincure or oil,(and I don't remember all the detail's):dunno:but she had a miricalous cure take place:grat: and has been cancer free ever since!
to the chagrin of her oncologist:grin: so there is some personal information about the curative and medicinal quality's of cannabis:hug:(not to mention the stupid grin it put's on your face:grin:):peace:
