Another hug for you mossy :hug:and another for all the other AFN'ers

egg.jpg This one is for you elsamurai .

The toasted bread strips are referred to a soldiers and you dip them in your runny egg yolk.

This is not gastro food but it is an evocative food, bringing back those warm feeling of childhood flooding back.

This is a food made by mother in your childhood a loved for the rest of your life.

Egg and soldiers is also a food you might have as a child when poorly as it is easy to eat a brings a little ray of happiness to your otherwise unpleasant condition.

I like to put the egg in cold water and slowly bring it to the boil, in this time the white will cook and the yolk remains runny, the perfect soft boiled eggy.

Others place the egg when it boils and reduce it to a steady simmer for 3 minutes but it is easier to over boil it this way and end up with a solid yoke if your timing is a little off.

nice arty.i wasn't sure. took me a bit to try "banger's and mash" when I visited England.lol. happy holiday's to all

To further your UK food education elsamurai, in Victorian Britain sausages were referred to a "little bags of mystery" as you couldn't tell what was inside them, quite often it was horse.

During World War I, meat became scarce and cereal/rusk and water was added to bulk them out.

The water inside would expand into steam whilst cooking and the casing would pop with a bang.

So these sausages with low meat content and high cereal/water content became known as "Bangers".

Today the minimum meat content of what can be officially recognized as a sausage is 42%, although there are many British sausages with 85% or so, a traditional sausage will always contain some rusk {rusk is dried unlevend bread/breadcrumbs}.

Anything with less than 42% meat can not be referred as a sausage and is called a"banger"to this day.

However if someone cooks you Bangers and mash it will most probably be served with sausages and hopefully a nice onion gravy.

That soft boiled egg and soldiers looks like my kind of food! I leave my eggs in a basket yokes a little runny (would leave it more runny but I'm usually the one on the run and egg yoke all over the house ain't cool)

Morning guys, hope everones xmas was good. All this talk about food make me hungry lol. I have to do a rez change and maybe a flush today. Been useing the maxi line nutes and I left them on the shower stall and they filled with water when I showered, filled to top of bag lol. I used them anyway without issue until they got alittle below half a bag. I think the nit in the bag seperated and concetrated in the bottom of the bags. I had a photo showing signs of a nit def when using the bloom nutes (used top of nutes only from this bag) and now im showing def and nit toxicity in my ones im vegging and my autos I hae running. I have a photo and an auto seedling that never made roots and the roots they have are real tiny. Photo should bounce back but my nl x bb will be very tiny if it does. Also have some more seedlings looking very underfed but burned at same time, autos, so those will be hurt to I imagine. Looks like ph lockout but ph is fine. Just wanted to let everyone know my experience so they dont make the same mistake and start chaseing symptoms lol. Nutes should be here by 1 woohoo...broke down and bought me a ratchet strap for my big light too. Was on sale for 5 bucks so I splurged and can get my castnet leads back lol.

Good afternoon stoners.
I hope your food hangovers were mild.

Mossy, thank you for the points.

Does anyone have exciting new years eve plans?
There are two nights out of the year that we stay home for sure. New years eve and St. Patty's day.

It took me a while but I realized what kind of Jekyll and Hyde drinker I was and quit long ago before I could do any real damage. We leave those two traditional drinkfests to the more able who can handle their likker, and the amateurs who try. So its a quiet evening at home until we go out to the edge of the woods and at midnight have a traditional kiss and hug, :hug:then make a lot of noise.
:Sharing One:

Evening all. Evening Boss. (what happened to the PJ top?) or do you just pull up the bottoms to make a onezy. Doesn't matter. Enjoy the sunshine.

I was watching my football team on the Sky Satellite when the picture went AWOL - No service. Strange I thought. The last time that happened it was covered in snow. It couldn't be could it ?

Yup, two inches in 30 mins. So, I had to lean out of my bedroom window with a 7 ft garden hoe, to scrape it off. I couldn't miss the footie.

We won 1 - 0 yey !!! up the Wolves.

eP.
