Hey friends! Been awhile since I checked in at the live thread, hope everyone is doing great and hopefully staying halfway warm lol.

Anyway this popped up in my feed and I'm rather disgusted with the article and this hogwash "study". It's by some UK psych think tank, which clearly has some kinda agenda. I'm hoping some of my UK friends can help us out with some of the lingo here. It keeps referring to "skunk" in some broad sense...

I thought "skunk" was just a strain family based on a particular scent. Are they just generally referring to all high grade Sensimilla as "skunk"?

Anyway the study I already know has multiple flaws, and I can't believe they let that study get to publication with as many issues as it has. It's trying to suggest that everyone or almost everyone who smokes "skunk" will have a psychotic break or develop psychosis. Uhhhh yeah, okay.. Where to begin here... Ok haven't we had strong cannabis for as long as there has been humans? We would have known long long ago that it makes people crazy. I don't think I've known anyone to develop psychosis or have a psychotic break from weed, even from the strongest stuff around.

Maybe you guys can make some more sense of the article, but DailyMail is really losing credibility in my mind. Here it is, it'll probably be all over the media and news soon, scaring everyone :

Let the brutal peer reviews begin..... well this is preaching to the converted but, as you all know pot get demonized because the powers that be don't want most of the population opening their minds (among other reasons). They anti pot movement are starting to run out of ammo and they need such "studies" to convince the brainwashed sheep of society that pot is evil. Harvard did a study a few years ago (google it) and they showed something like, if someone is going to become psychotic, it's gonna happen anyway, use of pot, they believe, may increase that risk by about 1/2 a percent, not enough to make a sweeping statement that "pot WILL cause psychosis". I know of a few dudes who probably would have gone totally nuts if they did'nt have pot ! peace
