Have you ever said to yourself "you know what? I think I'd like to do the work myself and not ask anyone?" Well boy oh boy friend, do I ever have a sweet deal for you!
It's called the SEARCH FUNCTION, and I'm here to tell you how this amazing function can save your life and sanity!

Look below at Figure 1! There are two areas we will be looking at, 1. Search and the 2. QuickNav link.

Here you have:
1. The "Search" box. Click in this to type what you are looking for. Smaller words (usually three characters or less) are often not enough for the search engine to search by, so if you are look for "THC" or "CBD", you may want to spell them out.
If you have done previous searches when you click on it; a drop down menu with your search history will show up.
2. Search Titles Only tick box. Check this box if you want to **only** search the thread titles (and not the body text) when doing your search.
3. Posted by a Member. If want to search for a post/thread that has been posted by a specific member, begin typing their member name into the input box. After a few characters, the software will attempt to make an educated guess of who you are trying to search for and you can click on the member name/avatar to automatically insert them into the "Posted by Member:" box.
If you want to add additional members, you just type in their names and click on the member name/icon when they come up.
4. Newer Than. If you want to search threads/posts by a specific created date, you click on this and select the date you want to search FROM.
Still with me? I can tell you're ready to search already! There are three buttons on the bottom of the Search menu to take a look at!
Click on the "Search" button when you have filled out what it is you are looking for (and any other appropriate queries.) This will begin your epic informational journey!
Click on "More..." to bring up the Advanced Search screen, which has many more options for searching by.
Click on the "pointing up triangle in the circle" button to bring up Useful Searches, which includes:
- Recent Posts (all of the most up to date, "just posted on" posts on the entire forum.)
- Your Threads (brings up a page of all of your most recent threads you have created.)
- Your Posts (brings up a page of all of your most recent posts you've made, regardless of whose thread.)
- Your Profile Posts (brings up a list of all your profile posts (these are the New Profile Posts you see on the right-hand side bar (if you're on a computer,) where you can post the 140-character profile posts.
Advanced Search:
There are four tabs in the Advanced Search screen:
1. Search Everything. This is very similar to the basic search function but includes the option to search by a specific forum or sub-forum.

- Search Threads and Posts
- Search Profile Posts
- Search Media
There is a check box at the bottom of it for "Search Child Forums as Well." If you select this, it will search any sub-forums located underneath that specific forum (say for instance if you look at the screen shot below, if I selected AFN Live Staff Help Thread and checked the box to search child forums, it would search AFN Live Staff Help Thread, Site news, and AFN Site Functions and Tutorials (you can see those last two forums are slightly indented to the right on the screen shot, indicating they are sub-forums.)
2. Search Threads and Posts. Here you have a few more options to search by "most replies" or "most recent," as well as specifying a minimum number of replies in the thread/post (which doesn't seem to be very reliable when I've tried it; especially when we have many on-going threads with hundreds/thousands of replies, but may prove useful in a niche situation.)
3. Search Profile Posts. If you ever ask yourself "what silly thing did I randomly (or someone else) mention in 140 characters the other day," then THIS is your search function! This searches the 140 character profile posts in members profiles.
4. Search Media. If you want to search Media files (pictures in albums,) you can click on this tab and input what you are looking for. The image files have to be named appropriately for this to pick up; so it's a bit hit-or-miss, but if people get in the habit of naming their media appropriately, you may be able to find pictures pretty easily.
Let me give you an example. If I type White Widow into the search box and click on the green Search button...
It searches all of the albums for anything titled White Widow. Anything matching up displays back on the query!
QuickNav.
QuickNav is the Quick Navigation Menu. I'm sure you've seen the quicknav links in many of the screen shots or may have noticed (or are just noticing it now) on your browser. If you click on it, it brings up the Quick Nav Menu.
There are two columns here; the General Links column (with links to your account settings and basic site functions,) and the Forum List column, which is a quick breakdown of all of the forums/sub-forums on the site that you can quickly navigate to without having to go back to the main forum index.

Anyone in the mood for some great karma? I was down to my last nug of Auto Blueberry yesterday with a couple weeks to go to harvest. I was readying myself mentally for a dry time when my doorbell rang. At the door was a stranger. He introduced himself as the son of one of my neighbors. I remember the father telling me about his son out west who is a grower. I hadn't paid much attention to him since he had no idea what strains he grew. Just that he grew weed.
I let him in and he explained that he was leaving tomorrow and had a gift for me. He laid 3 baggies on me that he could not bring on the plane to home. 1/8 OG Kush. 1/8 Super Silver Haze, and 1/8 of Blue Dream. We smoked most of the OG.
I am happy.

Hit the "Click Me" and then when you get there you need to hit the button "Post New Thread" which will then lead you posting your new Intro. You will need to add a title and then in the main body of the post you can tell us all your dirty little secrets.
We/I can then blackmail you for a large sum of money or fish.

I have a thread on this, but not many people see the Photoperiod thread so I just had to share. This is the dogwalker og and is 5 weeks into flower. I am anticipating 8 weeks so we will see. I'm leaving for a week in 4 weeks, so either she needs to kick it in gear or spend the time alone in the dark, which has worked well for me be before. I did want a nice big fat bud to knock my buddy in Denver on his ass. I took him some Northern Lights Auto last year that was pretty darn good, but all he would admit to is "OK". Fucker. (This is my best friend of over 40 years)
