it was 1977 he passed away it will always stick in my mind forever. It was my first summer holiday in a British seaside town.
There was a little bit of sun at times and when it did shine we were on the beach.
When it was wet and it did bucket it down a fair bit of that holiday, we stayed in & all the morning tv programs for kids such as "Why don't you" and the messed up & scary as you like "singing ringing tree" suddenly disapeared from the tv schedule to be replaced by Elvis films.
I was 7 years old and may have heard Elvis on Radio 1 but to be honest at that age I was listening to Tony Blackburn with his imaginary dog Arnold (woof woof from Arnold) to tunes such as "a little white bull" and "I'm a pink toothbrush" (these tunes actually got into the charts and passed as light entertainment, it was a more innocent time).
I remember being a bit upset the King had died, due to all my kids programs being replaced by lots of hip thrusting and gyrating, I didn't really get it but then again I was only seven lol
