I got my russia pin a few years pin a few years ago when i spent a month in moscow setting up for a rap music festival... you had to go through 3 checkpoints manned by police and then soldiers to get in where you get repeatedly searched and then go through a metal detector.. apparently thelast time they did something like they chechnean rebels blew it up! Heres my buddy trying to look hard next to a batalion of home guards lol:

It was one of the craziest paces ive been! We were invited by the government of moscow, so we were dealing with pretty high up officals and one the second day or so one guy came up to me and asked if we wanted any smoke for the evenings.... i was a bit apprehensive to say yes in case of a trap or something, but one of the belgian lads in our crew came bounding over... those belgians can sniff weed out no matter whee in the world you are! Anyways, this bloke pulls out a SACK of weed from his coat and sorted us about an ounce.. he said its best not to get caught but gave us a phone number in case we did so he could get us out of jail haha! We had an uzbekistani woman cooking us greasy sketchy stew every day on site and we all got food poisoning, i was lucky enough to be the only one who didnt sh*t myself though haha! Never been a big mcdonalds fan but we got right on it over there... safe and we could actually pronounce it lol. Mcdonalds was the only place to eat in the evenings we could find, theres frickin thousands of them! Ummm what else.... it was the hottest place ive ever been, way hotter than oz...... they drink vodka neat out of tall glasses, one night my boss found me ko'd on doorstep and my buddy in a bush round corner after visiting 24hr kareoke club.... crazy crazy crazy times!<br><br>Heres a cool photo of me putting the flag on top of the tent, sorry about shit pic quality...

Lol, wish I did work in a travel agents, starting to think my job is specialist because no one else wants to do it!

..yup..I Think we have all been there before...

On the ice bar coat..I had to sort out PPE for a minus 25 freezer area.
I went in with the boss and within a couple of minutes I swear I could feel a bogey in my nose..then the other side went..then I realised it was the insides of my nose freezing up...doesn't matter how Thick your coat is..

On Russia...years ago hubby got chosen to go with a delegation from work..got all the innoculations..and there are a shedload of them..with 4 days to go the trip was cancelled because of civil unrest.. it was rearranged 6 months later..and cancelled for exactly the same reason.

He still never got there...so Russia is a sore point..he Really wanted to go...

Some of my favourite holidays of recent years have been in SW France,amazing people,food and most importantly golf courses,it also helps that my parents have a place over there.

Much much more relaxed holiday if you have a base to explore from.
Our kids leave a stash of clothes..baby toys and equipment...saves it all coming in luggage..
They have use of the Jimny to drive about in..and we PAY for everything.....sound Ideal to me.

Last time my son was here..his daughter is 18 months..so I got onto the UK Asda site and ordered the clothes she would need for the holiday..and they posted it to Spain for a £5....cheaper than excess baggage..and all they had to do was take it back with them and wash it...:tiphat:..

My Favourite place to live would be one of the Quiet Greek Islands.
I Just Love old Greece..and the people..
But..
Cost of living and flight availability meant it had to be Spain.
Greece shuts down for flights in winter...except through Athens.

..Hubby did Marakesh years ago and he said the guys in the souks had great big Bales of cannabis for sale..but you couldn't buy it coz you were warned the tourist busses would be searched..and the guards on the posh hotels had machine guns and were all Stoned.....

I'd like to go...just to smell...:drool:....
