As an American Cali/Florida beach boy, we can always spot the European vacationers because they: either have speedos on with no tans, and or show up to the beach in full clothing lol. Like long pants, closed shoes, long sleeve shirt, hat, towels, umbrellas, and still layers of spf 90000 sunscreen hahaa. The locals or beach born show up wearing: shorts or swim trunks already on, towel optional, flip flops sandals or barefoot, tee shirt optional, males usually topless already, ladies show up with just bikini already on, maybe tiny shorts over bikini bottoms, sandals optional, towel optional,. And never ever any hats lol. :) Just fun to see the differences :)

Another "no no" for me,

Men in Ugg boots.

I agree in this case Daze, When you look like a "metro", wear them outside of your frufru sweat pants, and chose any color other than black.

Otherwise, they are like heaven for feet in the winter.

I subjected myself to the humiliation of moonboots every winter for years when they came out.
I found Uggs about 3 years before they started importing them to the States in earnest. It was like a Christmas miracle for me.

Why? Why would you subject yourself to such cruel sport for those with a gram of fashion sense?, you ask.

We didn't have a lot of money growing up and there were a few years that I didn't really wear shoes. I got nerve damage from repeated frostnip, so the nerves in my feet go crazy now when they get cold.
Intense pain. Makes this old bear very irritable.

Uggs......so warm and soft, ahhhhhh

Ooooooh :)

So HOT right now!

All the grape smuggler pics.....as I live in the tourist town I feel like I must comment. Here is what we call the tourists here, and its all in good fun :) we wouldnt make it with out yall!

1. Europeans we call lobsters. Easy to find because of their red glow and grape smugglers.
Canadians also fall in here but the grape smugglers are optional and they are of the wooly lobster type.
2. Those of india, africa, middle east and of darker complection we call burn victims. Theyre sunburn looks the most painful, as if scalding hot water was thrown on then.
3. Japanese we call photographers. They are usually fully clothed with sunscreen and hats.
4. We have a subset we call j1's because of their work visas. The countries vary. This year we had Ukraine, Philippines, and Thailand. Usually these folks acclimate themselves pretty well and are often found in mingleing with the natural wildlife. These are the partiers.

I am a product of superior breeding from many different nationalities and am immune to the sun for the most part. But if I had to go incognito I could fit into any of these lol.

haha lmao white socks but I'll raise you some Saturday socks

Personal bug bear, men who wear shorts and flip flop in the UK in February, just because it is a sunny day, just forget it is only 5C.(reason why I say men, is I just don't see women doing it).
Oh yes you look cool with your goose pimpled flesh ,grimaced face as you grind your teeth together because you can no longer feel your toes, I can only think, somewhere a village is missing it's idiot. lol
