Here's something completely random. Night off tonight so I was out in the dark and noticed that our local council have started to replace all the old hps lamposts with led
I wonder how long it will be before they start to go missing like range rover headlights
There have been LED lights near me for the past two years, so far none have been nicked.
Most people don't even notice them, I've had to point out that the lights are LED before people realized.
I guess it depends where you live, if you happen to live near scallywags I guess they could be nicked, but I guess they could also nick HPS lights too.
They LED street lights near me are a blueish white (somewhere in the 7000K-5700K range) ,Which would be ok for veg, where as the HPS would be better for flower.
The lenses are also likely to be 120 degree lenses to spread the light evenly between the lights, which doesn,t help with growing which would be better with a narrower angled beam.
Whiter street and sports lighting is now becoming more popular as it give a better colour rendering to objects and the world around us, allowing us to see colours in the same light, so to speak as we see in daylight.
Sports lighting which needs more powerful lights tend to use LED COB floodlights.
LED headlights are now starting to come into their own now, not so long ago LED weren't able to be used for the main head light and were only used as angel eyes bling.
Before that we had LED rear lights/brake lights & indicators which could be seen from a distance, but were useless for projecting light to see by.
Angel eye/Halo LED lit ring

lol one thing lead to another, bit of a ramble hehe
