40% of all modern medical advancements have come from space programs! There would be NO MRI if not for NASA, to name just one. Space programs have contributed more to modern life than all other sources combined. You want to feed the hungry, cut military budgets! Stop the " war on drugs" there would be a few more billions!

Man O' man! Have I heard that before. My dad would say it every time there was a launch. From the first Redstone until he passed just before the end of the shuttle. However. He marveled over satellites and the wonders they bring us.
As a fan of anything that flys, I always debated for the space program. But I take no offense at your comment. Thats why there's chocolate and vanilla.
It will be a while before we have another big lift vehicle here in the U.S. so Soyuz is it for now. If you ever get a chance to watch one live and feel the earth rumble under your feet it will give you another perspective from an adrenaline point of view.
Although, a Delta packing 8 boosters is pretty impressive.

T here is enough grain and corn grown in the bread basket of north america to feed the world. But the powers that be have to use corn for ethonal to make our gas guzzling cars run it is sickening. For such a smart race we do some really dumb things. What other species knowningly destroys there enviroment. Who really cares about a comet ten years away. We already no we do not have a infinite amount of water we have been usuing the same water since the begining of time they figured out our water source came from comets smashing into the earth identical make up. I jsut cannot see what there is to learn about a comet the will help and propell man forward as a species
Feenix I agree with you that they are some exceptional engineering designs behind the NASA shuttles and programme in general , hell they pushed LED grow lights to a new level. I'm just not into the whole space thing . I don't see humans in my life time leaving earth for mars or any other planet . I agree with fairlynew in a way that we need to look at they way we us our resources , I would rather use grain made ethanol to power cars then fossil fuel but I would rather see efficient cars than gas guzzling cars. I think I may have opened a can of worms with my first post but did not do so to offend any space fans .
