Anyone tried Red Scorpion filters? Just ordered one to see if they measure up to the Rhino Pro I usually use.

It's my understanding the intrinsic properties of carbon is based on the source material. So if they have a good quality source of carbon (highest quality virgin carbon doesn't really tell a guy much, the "virgin" part means that it's a freshly mined material (not recycled/reused,) it should hold up to the job! :Hookah: All scrubbers' life span and effectiveness are determined by the impurities being filtered through though! A cleaner room with less impurities (other than your cannabis odors) is going to, at least based on science and math, be easier for the scrubber to purify than a room filled with, say cigarette smoke. The more impurities you expose in the environment, the more will be trapped by the carbon but thus rendering it less effective for the things you do want it filtering.

I'm working on an in-depth guide for Carbon Scrubbers; been contacting manufacturers trying to sort through their fluff. :Sharing One:

I'm about due for a new filter or repacking my existing one... I started with one of those Ventech fan/filter combo, and it's worked great up until the recent AKR lol. That beyotch was stinking past the filter. So 1 year on a Ventech. I meant to get a nice one about now anyway. I'll probably get a Phresh or Rhino. That Red Scorpion looks sexy, let us know how it performs!

On this topic, if I wanted to brave repacking my Ventech, where do you guys source your bulk carbon? I'd want good stuff.

I have two 6" iPower scrubbers; they worked pretty stellar for the 1st year of pretty heavy use. I know there's definitely a difference in quality though; of all things to not skimp on, a good scrubber fits in that category.

As far as repacking goes; I would check with an aquarium supply store if possible. I'm sure you've seen the prices online, prices jump around quite a bit and you're going to want to make sure you're getting the correct types of carbon. An aquarium store may be able to get the bulk bags in on their freight, saving you some money. They also may be able to special order bulk bags from vendors you normally wouldn't be able to (just give them the company info.)

One thing you can do with your current filter is to take a rubber mallet (a hammer works, just be careful not to He-man ding the crap out of it,) and tap the sides of it all around. Do this for a few minutes. It's not about hitting it hard but causing the vibrations to shift around the carbon inside. This will expose more surface area (and hopefully viable/usable surface) for adsorption to occur.

You'll want to do the same thing if and when you repack your filter; you'll want to scoop in the carbon, then tap the canister for a minute so it settles, then repeat the process.

Be sure to clean out the inside of the scrubber after you removed the old carbon as the residue can cause a coating to form (don't mix the old with the new, either toss the old stuff or Google ideas on what to do with old carbon (maybe you can mix it with your kitty litter or something  )

Anyways, that's about enough on that for the moment. Hope that helps out a bit brother!

Awesome bro! That's some excellent information there. That gives me some new outlooks and some new avenues to try. Thanks mucho!

My landlady has problem's sleeping at night so I suggested that I would stoke up the Solo for her and she could sniff up the vapor and it would help her sleep . She says " this isn't one of those date rape drugs is it ? ". I said " Don't worry about it " . "pher Wiggle"

Saw a trailer yesterday for "The Blacklist" with a guest appearance from Ron Pearlman.

Is it worth me torrenting the earlier series? Is it any good ?

Ta, eP.

"I got the seed from Mexico Stuck it in some dirt and let it grow Put it in my garden with my peppers and my peas And I get all the smoke I need for free.

I'm growing marijuana in my yard, I'm growing marijuana in my yard. We keep it where no one can see - So let's keep this 'tween you and me, But I'm growing marijuana in my yard.

Yes, I'm growing marijuana in my yard, But I can't tell my boss or I'll get fired. I don't grow much just what I use - I work all day and when I'm through I smoke some marijuana from my yard.

Now the policeman wants to talk to me He says, How you gonna smoke up all that weed? He says, Money's what you're in it for - Don't you know we're in a war? Now I'm gonna haul your ass downtown with me.

And I said, Hey, man, what is it to you? How do I infringe on what you do? I beg your pardon, if you're offended by my garden But I just can't grow Prozac in my yard.

So I grow my own medicine in my yard. I give some to my neighbor for his heart. I share it with my grandma, who keeps it from her son, Cuz we all know that stuff's against the law.

Now there's nothing growing in my yard Cuz the cops took all my land and both my cars. Now I have to buy my pot - From a teen-ager in a parking lot Who's growing marijuana in his yard.

Anyone can grow it in their yard I could show you how, it ain't hard. Never mind the president, Let's overgrow the government. And all grow marijuana in our yards."

Okay so what we have here is DIY dehumidifier . The screen of an old electric fan, an ice cream bucket and some salt for a water softener . Theory is that the salt will absorb the humidity until it's saturated and then drip into the bucket .I'm a little skeptical but if it works I'll let you know . :tiphat:IMG_0435.jpg
