Lighting Looking for light options!

Asking some stuff for a friend who hates reading. He's decided to lean on me for all his answers. I barely know what I know, hahaha.

He has a closet they plan to grow in, with a 2x7 foot long space where their plants will sit. I believe he wants to do LEDs, but I might push him towards hps cause it seems cheaper and his budget is around 300.. probably 500 max on lights.
I know a lot of this uhh.. hobby, we'll call it that.. is personal preference, but still, let me know how you personally feel and I'll show him options and then he can pick what he wants to do with it.
He wants to do autos, right now he has some super stretched photos he's trying to grow.. Lol I'm
Would he be able to run them both in the same space..?

Don't buy this light because there is no way there putting out that many watts.Stay away from lights with double chips and stick with single diodes that have 90 degree lens maybe a 300 watt.Go back to Amazon and check out some other lights and post afew links so we can check them out.

That looks like a good price but his dimensions maybe cobs might work better @bigsmo can tell you how many you would need for that space

I run el cheapo chinese led's...i have a king 1000 watt led (185 watt draw) $140 and a viparspectra 300 watt (135 watt draw)$80 its a mixed spectrum the king is alot of red and the vipar is more of a white..i run both of those in a 2x2x4 tent(80 watts sq ') have great results and heat aint a factor..as long as you have proper ventilation. Both from amazon..but you will hear different things from different people..

@Lowdown Aye do you think a 420cfm exhaust fan would be good for his closet? It's 5 1/2 feet wide and 7 feet long, 71/2 feet high. There's a space in the back that's covered where their water heater is at. It's about.. 2 1/2 x 3 1/2? So kind of an odd shaped closet. He's doing HIDs so I think it would be good for his closet right? I imagine a lot of heat would build up in there..

It's best to look at the market for a solid fit.

You don't want to blindly make a purchase and regret it later on. There are so many factors involved such as power output, consumption, heat, and so much more.
