New Grower Lucy's Very First Grow - Ak48 auto in soil LED

Day 22

The wilting was a little worse today and I hesitated to give them their first feeding but they needed water bad so I went ahead as scheduled and added 1/4 dose of FF Grow big.
I'll have to edit my original post here and take out the word "organic" :p

I turned the fan down a notch and moved it back a bit. I knew I had a little too much fan but figured that as long as they looked good i would just keep it strong.

I really don't want to grow in a tent. I always pictured the simplicity of walking into a nice open room to see them. I'm trying to wrap my head around the whole whirring, breathing tent thing but I am not really happy about it. The smell in the house is pushing me into tent land though. I don't need to hide the smell from anyone and I like the smell of a little bud in the house but this is a seriously strong skunk smell and it's getting worse daily even tho flowering hasn't occurred yet.

I'm also not sure I can keep a decent airflow when winter hits. Now I can just open a window on either side of the room and let the air flow by them. That wont work when it's below zero outside though.

I've shopped a little for tents. Trying to get used to the idea. Trying to talk myself into it with this post also lol.

No girly parts yet but coming soon I would think.

Tent was the way to go for me. Picked up a unit farm tent and the quality for the price is great. Real good customer service too. Running a 2x4x6 and most of the other brands were a bit shorter for a similar footprint. Guerilla tents have serious height on them, but you’ll also incur some serious spending!
Just starting my first grow so lacking in experience, but from what I can gather tents give you serious control. With your space you could get some nice perpetual harvests going on

Day 23
WOOHOO I came home today to find no more wilting, plants look great and stinky gurl has girly parts complete with pistils. This is very exciting :d5:

Day 24

I knew that autos grow really fast from reading it here on the forums but man this stinky one is gaining an inch per day and is now 10 inches tall. Lots of little leaves popping all over the nodes too.

She's lovely, so lovely that I hear Stevie Wonder singing about it when I sit with her. OH! I have a boombox .....hmmn. Maybe .......

Day 28

I am learning a lot. I am finding that reading alot about doing this isn't the same as having actual experience. For a “weed” there is a learning curve.

Stinky gurl is now 15 inches tall and looking kind of long and lanky. My fault for sure. On Day 21 I freaked out about a tiny bit of wilting on the leaf tips and raised my light up 5 inches. I should have watered instead. I have been so paranoid about over watering that I unintentionally under watered by just a little I think.

In the 7 days since raising the lights she grew wicked tall trying to reach for it and yesterday she fell completely over and was laying flat across the pot. I wish I had reacted faster. I'm kind of clueless when the unexpected happens.
I stood her back up and staked her. She seems to be fine.

This morning I gave both plants a good drink with a ½ dose of CalMag & ½ dose of Neptune’s Harvest fish & seaweed. I’m planning to continue with the FF Grow Big but if I combine that with CalMag it seemed like it might be too much nitrogen for such young plants. If all goes well after this week I’ll give them light doses of CalMag with ½ doses of Grow Big.

The variegated plant is freaky. No girly parts yet, no smell and a few leaves are strangely curved. Not curled, but actually curved in an arch. I suspect that it's genetic rather than environment. Poor thing. I’m curious to see what happens in the end since I may never see another one like this. I don’t imagine she’ll yield much or have normal potency but I’d like to know for sure so she stays until the end. On the bright side she actually doesn’t have white stripes anymore….or maybe it’s just because I have the red bloom lights on now, but she has green leaves with lesser green stripes. I think I’ll take her out in natural light tomorrow to see how much green she actually has.

My whole tent setup has arrived but I havent set anything up yet. I'll probably do it next weekend.

I used happy frog and ocean forest on my current grow...I don’t have to give any nutes till about 4 weeks...usually with ff they got nutes in the soil good for about 3-4 weeks...so be careful with the grow big...Good luck on grow Lucy!

Day 29

Today is all about the variegated plant. She has her girly parts yaaaaay. She's actually looking good albeit a bit small. Her newer leaves aren't as streaked so she's starting to look greener (especially when I turn the bloom light off to take a picture) :)

I need to find a name for her because variegated is too hard to spell :p
