Hi everyone i just wanted to know what you guys think of the new citizen
CLU550-3626C1

if i am reading the specs right its a 295w per channel 2 channel chip thats a 595w chip.with the test amps at 2.34a giving typical lm 32500 thats about %50 efficiency and 295w but i would drive them at about 1.4a

now they are expensive £108 a piece but if they are as good as the specs say i would only need 2

I saw that too.
However, I would rather buy something smaller (and more) and spread them at the tent ceiling.

Well... if you have bigger tent then buy 4-5 of them. Hell yea, excited about new technology. :headbang:

It's more like 1-2 per 4x4. Comparing efficiency and cost the 048's might be a better choice but still very interesting.

I just found this info
1000mA
~101V
~101W
~14940 lumens
148 lumen/w (~46% efficient)
$2.22/PAR W

2000mA
~106V
~212W
~29532 lumens
139 lumen/w (~43% efficient)
$1.13/PAR W

So it's best to drive them harder@1400ma you would be close to 150w per chip. Dayum

yeah thats what i was thinking 2 150w on seperate passive or active heatsinks because my space is only 50x100(1.6ftx3ft)

Money is not a problem i just want the best i can get for the tent i have, what do you think the best setup would be

The 058 1825's are the most efficient cobs I believe
183 lm/w @500ma
168 lm/w @1400ma

At lower amperage and wattages the 1212's are very comparable to the 1825's but once you get them up to 50w 1400ma they start dropping

digikey has them for 22$ (when buying x50, they're not in stock yet). they also list lm/w@1800 at 148, significantly lower than the data sheet.

i'm not comfortable guessing the price for small orders, but if it's under 35$ it seems like a pretty good deal.
