Lighting new GN Units

Its seems that that way newbud! I do have faith in them and I have a feeling there will be no more set backs. I keep seeing it from a business point of view and I'm sure the set backs are most unfavourable for them. I will remain a loyal customer and wait until their release. Although they've had delays they are obviously against their will as of course it's not good for business and they do seem to value and rely on customer satisfaction!

i couldn't agree more with you the thing is there is not many companys out there who can do that sort of light for the same price and spec trust me :xlaugh:

Like many of you I am excited about the new lights and my money is getting impatient in the bank account waiting to be spent!
Here's a question that I hope won't be an offtopic - with the claim that the lights will draw very little power and be passively cooled I am assuming they will contribute much less to raising the tent temperature than current modular series. That means many of us, myself included, are going to have to think about purchasing heaters for grow rooms/tents for lights on and off periods I'm assuming. It seems like the majority of growers using tents use the tubular heaters.

I have browsed through the forums but couldn't find much info - is there any of you that currently use tubular heaters? I am planning a scrog grow in a 2x2 tent and cannot for the life of me think of a good way to install a small heater there - surely if I put it underneath the canopy it's going to cause heat stress? Is there a better way? (t5?) Can you share any tips?

Or perhaps I am mistaken and the lights are expected to emit a similar heat signature to modular series?

(once again - if you find it's not on topic I ask the mods to kindly remove this post and direct me to a different section)

As for the question on the new unit I can't really help answer but I've been thinking of purchasing a tube heater too! have seen a few on ebay and with temps dropping I need to pull my finger out as lights off temps are dropping a bit too much for my liking.
I also haven't managed to find a great deal of info out there but I think the lower the heater in your tent the better. I don't know exactly how warm the heaters are but I plan on just suspending it using rope ratchets. I can't see them being hot enough to burn the rope ratchetts or the plants but I will fashion a bit of metal to hang them off rather than the rope itself. Will order one in the next week and keep you posted bro. :d5:

How big is you setup mate? I know tube heaters start at about 2ft I think. I have a small dehumidifier in my tent in flower and it will increase my temps by about 3-4 C, keeping me in that 19-20 barrier.

Edit , it's now at 21c and 49% lights out. Pretty good

120cm x 60cm I do have two small dehumidifiers (500ml) I could put in. Will stick them in tomorrow and see if it makes much difference. would save some cash to as the tube heaters and thermostats aren't cheap! Thanks Kip :tiphat:

Apparently they can be anything from warm to the touch to pretty hot depending on the wattage. I was planning on getting the smallest one which is 1 ft I think, just anything to add some warmth.
I've seen a great setup somewhere (might have been here apologies I forgot!) where a guy set it on the tent floor (it comes with legs) where his passive intake it and just over it there was this small PC fan which ensured the warm air was being distributed - genius. Unfortunately, I don't think this works for our scrog setups since if you set it low, you're inevitably going to get heat under the canopy and I'm not sure how detrimental this is to the plant?
Hopefully someone will chip in on this

Just put my temp. gauge in my garage London Peach so will give it 10 mins and give you some figures
I've got 2 120w tube heaters in a 800x800x1600 space with a ms0006

Great :d5:
It will be nice to be prepared for changing my setup when the new light arrives that's why I decided to start this discussion.

Mr Kip, the dehumidifier is a good idea that I wouldn't have thought of and great it works for you. The problem I see with it is this - generally, warmth and low humidity do not go together. As in, in veg you want warm temps and higher humidity, and in flower you want lower humidity and lower temps. So I am looking for something that will warm those seedlings and young'uns up without stripping them off humidity which I think a heater will be good for but can't think of a good setup :slaps:

I see some people use reptile heat mats?
