Lighting new GN Units

anyone hazard a guess on price of defusers ? growing in a small oblong cupboard, not getting the correct defuser would be counter productive.shame the unused standard defuser that comes with the unit will be junked straight away.80x50 or 50x80 ? same thing diferent axis ? what side of the unit is the front ? gets stencil set ready to mount this off centre light.damn that's another 12 holes in my ceiling.

Will Dutch Passion sell the same light as GN? I mean same colour and brand on it. I see lights are branded CrazyLEDs and DP shows same pictures as GN.

I have not ordered it yet, too many questions remain unanswered for my taste.

Anyway I would buy only one to test it first, but I am almost sure that I will see results of testing here on AFN before I would finish mine.

Light is really perfectly built, results will most probably be very good or at least acceptable, unfortunatelly the price has gone up from initial "will cost the same and give same power as GN006.". I bought lights from DP and had got 100€ seeds with each, so the new one cosst exactly double of what I paid for GN006, that was 250€.

But there is one thing that makes me happy, I will most probably sell old GN006 lights for 200-250 each, Dutch Passion is strong brand here around and there is not much to buy.

What at questions do you have bro maybe I can help?

Sorry archie, no idea price of difusers, that part of the site not working yet and I could not make a guess.

The difusers are square so rotating it 90 degrees should sort orientation.

Drilling new holes - In life things sometime change and we have to embrace that change or stay as we already were.

When I got my new combi boiler I suddenly found a big white box half the way up my kitchen wall with new exhaust holes in my exterior wall and a whole load of pipe coming up through the worktop.

Same applies for Lights if the form factor changes we find we have a little DIY to do.

Most people don't like to change because we have to adapt to those changes, which means we have to do a little work in order to accommodate those changes.

However once we get used to those changes we often find we wish that we had done it years ago.

You don't have to drill new holes, you could use your old hanging points, but I like to max everything to it's full potential If I possibly can & centering the point where the light emits from would be something I would do to maximize that.

Old holes can be filled and painted, also the old holes would be in your grow room ceiling, it's not like you show people around the house and have to excuse the holes in the ceiling and red facedly say "what must you think of me, I have far too many holes in the ceiling", no one gonna see them except you and if that is an issue fill them.

I hope you understand what I mean, I just like to be practical and pragmatic in order to get the best from my equipment, especially when I am using the highest end gear I find I want to get every penny I spent working for me.

Contact them they maybe able to swap out the 80x80 a put in a 80 x 50 before sending it to you, you could at the same time find out what the price of additional difusers would be.

The difusers are square so rotating it 90 degrees should sort orientation, check with GN if this would be the case.

I'm sure a few of you are interested how the lights are performing so here are a few pictures.

First picture is 9 days ago (12/12/14) when I first started using the HS1.

Looking Top mate, looks like they have grown some mass by about 1/3? Would you say that's right ?

I'll reserve judgement till I see a few grows. I'd really like to see a side by side grow with another light of about equal power growing identical clones. It would not be definitive, but it would be a fair indication of whether or not it was truly much better than the alternative light.

A Rolls Royce may be a good investment, they are famous for going 300,000 , 400,000, some even 500,00 miles and lasting many many years. However, so was the original Volkswagen. I had a 1959 VW many years ago. It had 180,00 miles on it when I bought it and 240,000 when I sold it, I heard from the guy I sold it to when he hit 350,000 miles.............. and thats not uncommon either.
