ok guys so i took a LITTLE sample of my Blue Treacle from the inner middle where there wasnt much light penetration and let it and a cpl other trimmings in a brown paper bag for 5 days and pulled some out to test. well it had a grassy smell but was dry. so i packed some up and smoked it and it burnt VERY WELL... i could take a rip and it would "cherry" and continue burning until i was ready for the next puff. taste want bad and the smoke was VERY smooth... now i fed this girl HEAVILY at around 12-1,300 ppm so i expected it to be harsh but it was nothing of that sort. this is a pic of the bud after i smoked off of it i didnt think of taking one before because, hell why would i? haha but after seeing the results im very pleased with everything except the grassy smell... now why does everyone say that you need to properly flush your plants to get an even and clean/white ash burning product?

I did a rant in here about this, I use seagrow and my last run I dropped one of My red poison and broke her in half and did not have a chance to flush just trimmed her and dried, the ash, taste and smoke was damn near identical to the girls I ran 9 gallons through? I would like to know as well lol

well i only flushed my lsd-25 i just harvested with 1 dose of AN flawless finish and have the buds drying now so we'll see now that they will have a proper cure... i did run some qwiso and the taste is pretty good

The benefits of flushing are a myth! People come up with all kinds of BS about why, but the truth is, science says you CAN'T "flush" anything from a plant. What you are doing is killing your plant, right as it enters its peak!
weed burns black from high sugar content. A good cure takes care of that. Even organic bud needs a proper cure to be its best.

You've heard the one too, about buds popping and sparking because of too much magnesium in them? False! mg content in bud is measured in ppm ( parts per million ) I want to see someone light 50 ppm pile of mg on fire...... popping and sparking is caused by mites, etc in your bud. their bodies explode when the heat boils the water in them! POP!

nice info pop!i was thinking of just running flawless finish the day before but after confirming this i might only do it to 1 of the remaining plants to experiment a little to confirm this

Why not make a real experiment of it (if you have 2 of the same strain) and flush one thoroughly and on the second feed normally and after both dry and cure via the same method and decide for yourself ?

This, like most aspects of growing these weeds have many different ways to accomplish the same thing.

I myself can taste the difference between the smoke of flushed and not flushed. Some can, some can't, and some just have a personal preference.

These weeds store a certain amount of nutes and when you flush what you are actually doing is reducing that stored amount.

Some think this reduction produces a smoother smoke, some dont.

Long ago I did several side by side grows to test this. For my personal tastes I prefer flushed.

On some strains you may notice very little difference. On other strains you may notice a big difference.

But then again, that's IMHO and YMMV

I did do a expierment by accident though, The last run I did I grew out 2 Red Poison and a Mohan ram, about 3 days before harvest the day of flushing actually I dropped one of the Red Poison, and broke her completely in half! Like I said all 3 were about 3 or 4 days before harvest. I went ahead and flushed the other Red Poison and Mohan Ram, I get the ram in a 1/2 gallon bag so I ran 2 gallons thru her. The 2 Red Poison were both in 3 gallon pots so the remaining one I had I ran 9 gallons of 6.7 water thru her sat them back in can and proceeded to cut and trim the Red I had broken in half. I went ahead and hung Red 2 up and by the time she was dry it was time to cut the 2 proper flushed plants down. I did all of this wondering how the non flushed would be I was actually worried I had ruined it, but guess what... I waited until they both dried and then put the Red and Mohan into separate Cvaults with 62 RhPacks for the cure, I did not smoke anything and let it all cure for about 2 weeks. When the time had finally come I took a nice bud of all 3 plants, they came from the center of each stalk, and what came to pass was that all 3 pants all burned white ash, tasted amazing, burnt evenly and was not the least bit harsh, I could not tell the difference with the 2 Red Poison or the Mohan Ram. I also think that flushing is a big bunch of shit and that it is a lot more work especially for people that are sick and have a hard time doing it such as myself. To each his own but in my opinion and personal test and Expierence flushing has Jack shit to do with the final product, I also say it is all in the dry and cure. I use Seagrow 16-16-16 and 4-26-26 along with Botanicare calmag plus. From about day 10 to the end and I always water until I get runoff. Again it is my opinion that flushing is a crock of shit, with soil anyway I do not know about hydro or other means of growing! Cheers guys

This is excellent info!!! I've often wondered about the 'flushing myth'. I also wonder what the REAL benefits are of organic vs. synthetic nutes? Any info on that one @pop22? :toke:

Read Spear, my favorite canna author says:

"Plants don't care what you feed them, ions are ions."

The benefits of organic growing is, its much better than manufactured nutes for the environment, and its simple to use. And its the ultimate form of recycling!
