NORBY has a go at MYCOLOGY

Shake that (Day 26 since inoculation)
  • Now that the mycelium has reached over 40% Iv decided to give the bag a shake and a shuffle to break up any large clumps so it can mix evenly with the patches that have not colonized yet.

As you can see from the Pic below, there is a stripe on the back and front of the bag that's uncolonised, so a shake was definitely in order.

    SHAKE THAT

    DAY 28 Since inoculation
  • Gave the bag a shuffle & shake on Tuesday to mix the mycelium up with the uncolonised patches

Spreading out well again since then.

Got my supply's in order for the next stage & would say I'm not far off now.

I'm thinking when the time comes to mixing the the bags, That I carefully remove some C. V. G first and then leave some colonized grain in it's bag and mix the removed cvg into the grain bag so I've got 2 bags then.

Makes sense, but could be a contamination risk.

    Light for the Incubation/mono tub
  • Had a dig about the box of everything and found this light, would it be OK to fruit with,
Light is only on briefly to show you it.

The other Bag of substrate is in a black fabric bag hanging on the grow room wall as there was no room in the incubation/mono tub.

    Some supplys
  • Ordered a few more items.

    10 L compost caddy,

I will use it to store Inoculated Rye Grain,

It will be able to hold 2 - 1 kg bags of Grain that will be able to be kept in my grow area.

    25 litre bin

To replace the one I'm currently using as it's see through and I had to cover it up to stop light getting inside.

This ones blacked out, so it will stop light getting in.

I will remove the CVG from the current on its in atm and put the bag into this one to finish colonizing.

I will attach a light to the inside of the lid when it's fruiting time.

Hope there be some fruit soon
  • Glad thats done

I dropped and smashed the box i intended to use while wiping it down to sterilize it so have to use this one instead, will probly go on its side tho. Tried my best to be as clean as possible doing it so hopefully there's no contamination.

If there is I'm not too worried as this is a test phase to see what can be done for next time I try, I'm surprised I've got this far.
I'm more concerned about the other one working out as the it's the method I'd like to work cos it's practical and able to fit in the Den
