the cone shape is so the roots follow it , in turn they grow outwards , reaching the outside of the pot
simply drilling holes could work , but not as well , roots tend to skip right over the hole and continue circling inside the pot , especially if the holes are drilled from the outside of the pot leaving a lil lip on the inside , if done this way it is best to take sand paper and sand the lip off
The Roots Might grow Throw it if its Carboard ...or It wouldEventually fall apart and Screw up Plant ..
Since Im doin It on 5 gallon Buckets ..i honestly couldnt Say ...
But in Reading Those Large Airpot have 100% Sucess rating because to roots with that design as so damn strong and Stacked like mad Crazy ...
Ive Grown In knock off Brand Root builder But i dont think the plant grew.enufff.....
