Potassium deficiency I believe. Which fertilizer? Also, I have no males for a seed grow!

Hey All,

Two issues. :help:One, I've got a one-month old lowryder 2 that looks to have potassium deficiency. It's in a 3 gallon container, good soil, but I haven't fertilized at all. I'm watering with distilled water. It's just starting to show signs of deficiency, and I want to correct it fast. So tomorrow I buy what? I know I can get the Fox Farm quickly, but which? And since it's organic, it won't absorb as fast as chemical. Should I maybe give one watering with Miracle Grow (1/4 strength), and then switch to Fox Farm?

Next issue. I planted 8 seeds, 2 never came up, and those that did are all female. I was growing this time to produce some more seeds?! :face:Grrrrr. Now what? Anybody got any lowryder 2 pollen? Hmmmm. Guess I'll be reordering seeds. Grrrr! Anyone ever had this happen to them? These were not fem seeds.

Any bloom nutes will be high in K. Eight out of 10 is pretty good for store bought seeds. You could turn one of your females into a male and make feminised seeds.

At one month old you should give them veg nutes with a higher nitrogen content, along with phos and potassium.I would start with Fox Farm grow and skip the MG.I wish I had your luck with six of six being fem.I'm not a breeder but I don't think you can change a female to a male.I passed your question to other members so you should have a responce shortly.

you could reverse one with colloidal silver or sts and make your own fem seeds (see the feminization sub forum)

as for the plants , im surprised they waited this long to show a deficiency useing distilled water , but you did mention growing organic , so now im assuming your medium has the needed food

if you want a fast acting fix try a foliar spray to avoid dumping chemical ferts into your organic grow

peace and best of luck

I would suggest you post up some pictures of the plant you suspect has the deficiency so we can have a look. Make sure they are taken in natural light so we can see the true color of the leaves. Also, some details about your soil, the pH you are feeding and your run off pH. If it's a pH issue then feeding more nutrients probably won't help.

I've got some lowberry pollen in the south central area

edit foxfarms big bloom is microbes, grow big until wk 6ish and tiger bloom for flowering

Thanks everyone! Pictures now here of sick lowryder 2

Thanks everyone. I thought the site notified me to a reply on my posts, but it only did in the intro forum it seems. So I'm happy I looked back at my post, and that you all have responded. Here's the pics. 5 weeks old Lowryder 2. Five gallon soil. No, I haven't checked PH. Last grow were all in one gallon pots, everything else the same, and they were fine in the same soil. This one plant pictured started getting sick at week 4, and it's getting bad. Some dry areas, as you see, and orange-like spots spreading everywhere. The other 4 plants are fine. I gave her a drink of Foxfarm Big Bloom 3 days ago, and no change yet. Spots are spreading. Help?

I can make a male out of a female plant??

Looks like both P and a cal/mag deficiencies. Usually when both happen at the same time it's the result of nutrient lockout caused by your pH being off. If that is indeed the case, feeding more nutrients won't help and could actually hurt. You need to find out what the pH of your soil is before doing anything else.

Thanks Muddy. That's my first stop this morning; to get a PH meter. It's odd that last time, same bag of soil, same water, same seeds, same everthing (well, bigger pot size) and there was no issues at all, and I never once gave 'em anything but water. My 5 other plants are being treated exactly the same way right now, and they are fine. How odd. Oh well, off to the store. Thanks! For those interested, I'll keep ya posted....
