Hello to everyone,

Just writing to share some experiences on potential bad effects of Cannabis use that could probably help other guys to make a better informed choice before learning the hard way.

In the past few weeks I have experienced some really bad side effects while using Cannabis, each time for a different reason. The first time was the fact I switched to a different vaporizer and unknowingly "overdosed" myself, which ended up in muscle spasms, weakness, vulnerability, distress, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, and feeling of being poisoned and dying, kind of severe panic attack I guess. Fortunately, a friend of mine was there to comfort me, which made it less frightening experience.

The second time I used appropriate mild dose but was prescribed Co-Codamol 8/500 and Naproxene 500 for my spinal pain. Before I took them I had a bit of research on the internet and there were lots of posts saying how wonderful it was to combine ganja and the before mentioned medications together, and it was advised to take the Naproxene with a meal so I had a couple of Weetabix. After I took the pills I started to feel very miserable again, lost the muscle strenght, got into spasms, and felt really sick, vomitted a bit, but it violently emptied me more from the bottom end than the mouth one. So another horrible night instead of peaceful cosy night sleep without pain, lasting about 4 - 5 hours.

I have been reading recently about eating raw / dried Cannabis for medicinal effects and ate a little dried bud thinking it would be just a gentle soft pleasant feeling, how wrong I was, after an hour of consumption it started to come strong and became even stronger and kept me awake, worried and scared, although not feeling sickly poisoned or in horrible muscle spasms like before mentioned two times. Shat about eight times, burped a lot and was wishing for the "trip" to come to an end so I could lay still in bed and go to sleep. After 5 hours of very strong intoxication I was able to go to bed and actually fell asleep. So the trip just from eating a bit of dried bud was unexpectadly extremely strong and I really had not wanted that to happen. I have surely learnt though.

Obviously, each time I was aware of the need to drink water to prevent dehydration, but when I overdosed first time, my mouth cavity went really fucked up, I could not take anything into my mouth for some time as it was extremely painful just to feel a drop of water in there (the sensations I had was like having a strong metallic like electrical current causing lot of pain).

If you guys have had any bad experiences with Ganja either by accident or by being misinformed, please share your stories, it might be helpful to us all and especially to the less experienced ones.

Also, be aware of people who think and talk about Ganja as totally harmless, because it is not, like any other medicine, it can become poison like in various circumstances such as high doses, combinations with other drugs or even foods, different types of usage...

Safe Ganja use :peace:

It is harmless in the fact it cannot kill you or do you real harm. If you are having continuous problems with having "whiteys" then you need to reel in your consumption. It sounds like the real issue here is you need to learn to take a much smaller amount. I'm not trying to insult you at all, but if you are continuing to have these issues then I see some user error in it.

Oh, also, overdose is the wrong term to use. The LD50 level of cannabis is astronomical, as in can't be done. I challenge anyone to smoke enough pot in one sitting to kill themselves, be fun to watch and guaranteed they'd live.

yeah....some people like it...so people don't......I happen to love it bro!!..:bong:.....sorry to read about your unpleasant experiences my friend!!..:smokebuds::peace:

I agree with Mr Piggy; try a MUCH smaller dose. Unfortunately a lot of people treat pot like alcohol and try to show off how much they can handle (not saying you are of course)!

:bong: Now. I also don't think it can be done, and certainly don't wanna die yet, but in the name of science and safe cannabis consumption I will offer myself (I don't volunteer for anything anymore) for this very risky research. All kidding aside, if you're having bad reactions to cannabis and as has been said before, you may need to dial back your intake, or find a way to determine what you are psycho-actively sensative to (THC,CBD,CBN..) and find the strains that are comfortable and effective for you. There may be underlyng factors that are causing your receptors to be hyper-reactive. If you're using marihuana "strictly" medicinally, determine WHICH health issues you are medicating for and gear your strain, strength & intake based on that. Molly has alot of the same issues (whiteys) due to the amount of brain trauma from the cancer and soooo many surguries. Hope you get a handle on this...we don't want harm coming to anyone for smoking / ingesting cannabis. Good luck, keep us posted.

I had some(3) very unpleasant experiences with ganja, first two times were due to bad product(albanian shit weed), so not a thc correlated bad effect, the one I remember most, was a big joint shared by two, filled with super potent skunk, smoked in a car with Mezzanine(a Massive Attack album) set quite loudly.
That time I was literally SURE I was going to die, total deep shit paranoia, strong nausea and tingling on the skin(I think it was related to high thc and CO intake). Well, after it set off you can imagine how surprised I was to be still alive:joint:

I was a relatively new smoker at the time.

Nowdays I see smoking ganja as a cultural thing, related to enjoinment of life; I was never smoking it for medical reasons, although it might have helped me against depression(quite sure it did).

I'm not a part of the medical profession, I am only a patient. when I started 2 years ago, searching for a med that would keep my cancer from recurring,I found the cannabinoids in cannabis to be very beneficial....at first my bodies cannabinoid receptors were very sensitive and any exposure would cause powerful headaches....then I discovered the difference between the different varieties of cannabis and even the differing effects of an early versus late harvest. now I can tailor my meds to my personal preference....but,like any other medicine, what is right for me may be wrong for another...unfortunately dosing must be done experimentally until a cheap and reliable way to measure cannabinoids can be found ,which would make this medicine safe and effective ,and prevent "whiteouts".....good luck in your search and I hope you find relief in some way.

I would also suggest you try a different strain. It sounds like what you had was probably a sativa or sativa dominant strain. Sativas can cause feelings of paranoia or anxiety in some people. I have to be careful myself with them as they can cause my blood pressure to drop to a level where I can feel light headed and have fainted on a couple of occasions. Look for indica or indica dominant strains. I think you will find their effects more to your liking. Also, as other have suggested, moderate your intake.

You really shouldn't eat raw canabis anyway thats a mistake. The other thing is unless you know who you bought it from it could have been laced with some bad shit and caused your problems.
