Well the title says it all rusty spots showed up all over my AKR in less than a day...is this a Cal or Mag problem..been feeding with VERY low dose nutes like 1/12 strength as I don want to burn them..any advice would be appreciated!
What is your PH.How old are they?hat type of nutes? There is such a thing about being careful with the nutes.but then again 1/12 strentgh is really to lite.It does look like cal-mag def and with that low dose it could be low on everything else.
Ph I would think should be ok ...I'm using fox farm ocean forest soil and general organics nutes I have been going light on the ca mg maybe ill give her a bigger dose also the plants about 5 weeks old ....I am using aged tap water and the ph in it is a little high...but I was under the impression the combo of ffof and go nutes keeps the ph pretty stable and in range ..but I dunno thanks for the help any more would def be appreciated
How old is she? Looks like you could go full strength on the cal /mag. Also it wouldn't hurt to Ph your water even though your soil should balance naturally. Always good to start it off on the right foot.
OF has shown a lot of inconsistency in it's pH right out of the bag. We've seen some as low as 4.5, so don't assume that it's okay. You should be pHing your feeds and checking the pH of your run off to make sure it's all in range. I do agree, you need to feed more. By week 5 they should be able to take 1/2 strength without issue.
Well the problem has spread after a flush and epsom salt foilar feeding..so im at a loss..dont have the funds for a ph pen right now I do have fish so I have a drip tester maybe give that a try? What would be best way to test runoff without messing up color test? As my runoff is a slight brown...
Ok so the ph was about 6.0 from what I can tell (color chart doesn't have big color changes)..I gotta save up for a proper ph meter.anyways...I took a piece of the leaf to my local hydro store and the guy seems to believe it is "rust fungus" so I treated with all natural fungicide trimmed off infected leaves then did a very large flush while adding a bit of dolomite lime to help balance ph out a bit more...so we will see..im pretty upset about having to mutilate my plant but better safe than sorry...the progression was soo fast..from one leaf to the whole plant in a day...I'm not to optimistic about the yield now but luckily I have a big healthy AKR right beside this one..I'll let you guys know of any updates...thanx for the help!
Yeah with fox farms the Ph is almost guaranteed to drop and cause lockout. My first grow failed when Ph dropped into the fours. As that one started to die I started a auto amnesia which had the same thing happen. Luckily saved her with lime and a good flush to get the Ph back up. If using fox farm it's a must to add lime at the start. My Easy Cheese auto which is in flowering just had a drop in Ph causing lockout. Again fox farms. With fox farms, 2:1 ocean forest to light warrior with 1Tbsp of dolomite lime per gallon of soil is the best way.
