Such a thing as too much bat guano in tea?

Hey Folks,

I have been brewing AACT's with a super simple recipe for the past few months.
3 cups compost, 1 cup EWC, some "fish stuff" and molasses per 5 gallons of H2O.
The plants respond quite well to it.

Today I was trying to save some time by pre-bagging the dry ingredients for future brews.

Unfortunately I mixed in bat guano instead of EWC. I searched around and most recipes call for low qty's of guano, not a full cup.

So any issues with running this recipe?
3 cups compost + 1 cup bat guano?

Thanks!

Probably no problem other then killing your plants. Guano is very potent and I use 1/8 th tspn a gallon so a cup would be WAY too much. 1/2 - 1 tspn per 5 gallons of tea. Organic nutes can burn just like salts and I learned the hard way with guano a long time ago.

Thanks folks, looks like it will go into the soil amending pile instead!

Fwiw, i just used 75g bat guano in 20 litres ewc tea. I added bokashi, seabird guano, azomite, rock phosphate, EM1 and EM4.

I used 75g cos I was out. I wanted to use 150g bat guano but since i only had 75g left, I added 90g seabird guano.

If you add my guanos 165g + 150g of azomite and rock phosphate, thats more than 1 cup if I assume 250g as 1 cup.

I also use more EWC than most people. At least 600g in 20 litres. I also add another 250g bokashi compost just to diversify the compost used. Molasses is around 3 large spoons.

My plants loves them but honestly, there are so many factors at play that a good tea for my plants may cause problems for yours.

I would just make that tea but for flowering plants or to kickstart flowering. Then, go easy for a feed or two or none depending on response.

@Equatorial how often do you use a tea like that?
Thats for flower. Once a round cos I use mainly Megacrop and its line. Around week 6 or so. Many says that chem nutes don't mix with organics. They work very well for me and personally, I don't believe it. As long as nutes are not overfed, soil should be just fine imo. Organic and salts exists naturally together, don't they? Just my layman understanding of it though.

For veg, just EWC and bokashi and molasses. Some fish/seaweed extract, EM1 and mycos before feed. Also just once around week 4 or so.

Plants just fed with flowering tea. They will get a PK nute chem boost with vitB1 next. Besides some light burn cos of my over eagerness with the new light setup, they seem good.

@Equatorial i used to do the same thing. I even made a tea with salt fertilizer and it turned out very alive and frothy. Micro life will consume chemical fertilizers too. It doesn’t cause mass extinctions of life in the soil and neither does chlorinated water for that matter. Those are both gardening myths spread by people who want to sell you something usually. I will still use an occasional boost in flower for photos and super hungry auto girls and chems are usually better for foliar feeding too imho.
