Hi, back again for the first post of the year. Hope you all had a good Chrissy.

I've been very busy these last couple of weeks, as they all get close to finishing during this high humidity, I wanted to avoid any mould setting in.
Here's some idea of what I'm dealing with...
First, this was the humidity just over a week ago (12th Jan)...


Yeah, way up in the 90's which is shit for harvesting. How do you expect weed to dry in that???
The forecast wasn't looking great either...


...and it was playing havoc with my VPD, as you can see in this Cloudcom screenshot...


As you can see, a minimum VPD of 0.55, hitting a max of 2.53... and I need to be in the 1.2 to 1.5 region.
Humidity, we're practically underwater, and temps.... you wouldn't want my minimum as your maximum!

On the 5th Jan (Day 73), I checked the Jonestown, and she had a tiny bit of mould developing in her main cola, so I took her down that night. Luckily I had stopped watering her for a couple of days, again to reduce the leaf RH.

But very leafy....

She was a bitch to harvest, I needed to wet trim her to remove all leaves and get a good look for any mould, and luckily there was no more.
I left her hanging in boxes in the infernal humidity, and eventually took a touch over 2 weeks to dry, and that was only achieved because I set up a dehumidifier in the drying room (after seeing those figures on the Cloudcom)... I reckon if I didn't put that dehumidifier in, I would have lost the lot to mould.

Anyway, she's down.
When I get home this this evening, I'll show you my ASS.

Cheers Sawney. I was lucky as it only amounted to about 4-5 inches of the mid section of the main cola. Could have been much worse as I was planning on giving her another day or two.
As you know, I ran out of bud just after Christmas, so luckily I had a load of homemade hash. After smoking a few hash and ciggie joints, I got a glass pipe instead... much nicer. It was great for having a quick toot of scissor hash while cropping as well!

A few days before harvesting Jonestown, I removed a couple of smaller stems and oven dried them for a smoke. Desperate measures.
Once she was down, I kept the rest of the smaller stems aside and paper bagged them as buds. The first couple of days, I had to pop some in the oven, but it wasn't long before we were back to normal.
It's a good smoke... if it's good after quick drying, it's gonna be great once the rest of it is dried properly and bagged for a couple of weeks, and that's what's happening right now. We must have gone through a good 2.5oz of it already though.
I had a smoke just now from one of the bags, and I'm pretty mashed, it tastes and smells good too, but I can't put my finger on quite what it is! Smells like good weed. Innit.

My ASS is done.
I have never grown anything quite so purple....

The contrast between the green and purple was amazing. In the above picture, the buds look almost lilac in colour, but in the shot below, they are dark and menacing!

I'll finish off with these close ups...

I cropped her on the 8th Jan, day 76. She probably could have gone longer, but I was shitting myself about mould.
I removed the larger leaves while wet, and manicured the buds on the stems last night.
I will remove the buds from the stems and bag them tonight.
I have good control of the drying area humidity at the moment so they are looking perfect, and a few sneaky test smokes confirm these buds do what they say on the tin... Strawberry Soda without any doubt.

I am so looking forward to tasting my ASS in a couple of weeks.

It looks spectacular when live and ripe, but also when dried, and even when ground... it's not the normal colour and it makes you hesitate each time you see it...you ask yourself if you're tripping!

Thanks for sticking with me here... this is my third post of the day.
This is now at day 85, just two left, Blue Amnesia special and Bubblegum. Both are from Sawney, but the Bubblegum is a 420 Fastbuds strain.

I had a really busy weekend cropping, spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday taking down the Blue Amnesia and manicuring her wet.
She's now hanging in boxes, slowly getting dry.
She was a big girl...

She got really close to the lights in early flowering so I supercropped the main cola, and it worked out very nicely....

There was LOADS of bud on her, so here's some shots...

That was the main cola's tip, here's a different one...

Plenty of sugar on those buds!

Again, slightly early on the chop although there are some ambers in there, but worth it to reduce loss by mould.
I've grown many a (huge) Blue Amnesia by Dinafem... this smells exactly the same, so I'm hoping this lot will be just as good potency wise.

Finally the "420 Fastbuds" Bubblegum.... not so fast, as she's on day 81 today.
She's doing well though, and probably has 2 weeks or so left in her....

She smells really sweet and fruity.... very pungent stuff, so I'm really looking forward to a trip down memory lane with this gear!
