Dragon Meds The Dragon Tests - Pal

sorry for lack of updates people, been down with some intense food poisoning so it's kinda hard to be moving around past few days :/ I'll try and snap a pic of her later today cos if I'm honest I haven't checked on her properly in a while, hate being ill! :peace:

Okay people, pretty much recovered from illness so I'm on the up and up. I'll have an update for you this afternoon :peace:

p.s Update to follow as soon as I finish this Amnesia Haze, very rare that we get anything imported from Amsterdam around here in the UK so I am thoroughly enjoying myself right now  but damn £70 for a quater, my wallet hates me.

Okay guys I'm finally back with an update.

This girl has had a rough start, pretty much identical to my last MS. She was fine until around the second week when I got ill, she received a good 5-6 days of negligence on my part so when I went back in to check on her she had signs of over feeding and general unhappiness. The EC was only at 0.9 (1.1 total) but I'm now suspecting it's the canna start causing issues for this girl, this one and my last girl didn't seem to be happy until around week three after the switch to Aqua Vega, therefore in the future when growing this strain I'm going to go straight in with Vega at 0.6EC to see if she gets off to a better start.
I removed a few leaves that were damaged beyond repair and made her a fresh res with Canna Vega up to 0.8EC and since doing so she's showing signs of recovery and the blemishes/burn is not spreading any more which is great. Ah well I always seem to mess up the first couple weeks but they usually turn out okay, fingers crossed for this girl people
Seeing a couple of leaf deformities, they're identical, symmetrical and on opposite sides of the plant, I never usually worry about this kind of thing so I'll just watch to see what happens, if it get's exciting for any reason I'll take some pics to show the leaves in question.
Got a few pics so you can see where she is at, she looks like she may want more food in the next 2-3 days, I may up the EC to 1.0 (1.4 total) to see how she takes it.

She showed sex two days ago so I'll switch her over to bloom nutes Monday, no delaying the switch this time.

That's all for now folks, as always I appreciate any suggestions and feedback :peace: :Sharing One:

How long did you leave the switch to bloom nutes last time. Iv read that switching 10 days after first signs of sex is the rule of thumb. You thoughts on this??

Not trying to hijack, but rule of thumb with autos is make the switch once you have seen verical growth stopped. Since autos don't get huge you want to get as much height out of them as possible.

Hey guys, I'll share my experiences with you  The first grow I did what you suggest IDS, waited for vertical growth to come to a halt, they turned out fine but it was my first grow so they didn't produce a whole lot. Once I moved onto DWC I really wanted to push the girls to get big so I kept them on Veg nutes for a long while, maybe 2/3 week after showing sex. Again they turned out fine but I ran into a couple of problems from prolonging the veg period. First they took a long time to finish - but that's what I expected from a big plant in hydro so wasn't too bad, but on my Blue AutoMazar I prolonged the switch to bloom for too long and the plant was maturing before her life cycle was up. Hazy had to point this out to me as I had no idea what was happening but all of the leaves yellowed and died off before she was even being flushed..again, turned out fine but in my limited experience I've now decided to follow other people's guidelines on when to switch to bloom, the most common consensus being 5-7 days (please someone correct me if I'm wrong). Switching to bloom this soon appears to have no adverse effects on overall plant size and yield and I even see a few people growing plants with no veg at all now, just bloom from the start. Still not sure what's the "best" way so I'm all ears

IDS, in your experience, how long after first signs of sex would vertical growth slow down? Im thinking about two weeks, but i dont have much experience

Pal, an idea to float for a future grow. Switch early but use half veg and half bloom nutes for one week.
Peace
