New Grower think im ready to start my first grow

Moved into my condo about a week ago and today I finally made the trip to the local hydro store for some more supplies. How am I doing on stuff?
-mars hydro 700w led
-5x 3 gallon smart pots
-2 cu ft sunshine advanced mix #4
-jump start 12 starter kit

I was going to go with a different soil, but the guy was raving about this stuff and I liked the idea of not mixing so hopefully this works ok.

Also have 10x Vision northern lights auto fem from herbies. Pretty impressed with how quickly I received my Stealth Packaging
Planning on hanging the light today and starting the seeds off. How warm is ideal for seeds? He was trying to sell me a 40 dollar heat pad which I passed on but will 70ish be fine? Any and all tip/advice are greatly appreciated especially on starting.

Looks like you're on the right path, and definitely in the right place here at AFN haha Seeds like it pretty warm underneath them, but a heating pad isn't mandatory, although some warmth will tremendously improve the germ rates. This is super ghetto but it works great : I soak my beans in distilled water in a little sealed container and just placed inside my computer for warmth. Then placed into peat pellet or Rapid Rooters in a small container with plastic wrap over top of it (to retain humidity) and placed on the cable box/dvr for warmth. Works perfectly, and free

What are you doing for air flow, temperature, and humidity?

I just found out my light timer is junk so I gotta grab one tomorrow then I want to run the room with the small fan in there, soil and light and see what the temp and humidity are. No idea what to expect the room is about closet size under the stairs maybe 3.5'x8'.

Whats ideal temp and humidity? I think im going to pass on a carbon filter and fan for the first grow and maybe get one in the future. Right now the fan is a small corner triangle fan (I think the lights cooling fans are more powerful)

your going to need a better fan that one will help but for now you should get a small table fan that oscillates for good air flow. But looking good man I am all subbed up and ready for the show!!!

What about nutrients?

I agree with Strawberry there about the filter. Unless you don't care about the smell. With 5 plants your going to smell them for sure. You should enjoy the NL!

I dont really care about the smell... I mean my place always smells anyways and I dont hide it plus this is in a room in the basement and I live alone. Realistically how strong smell should I expect? One time I had a ton of skunk in a bag I could smell about 100yds away from my house with all windows closed but that was the smelliest ive ever encountered.

Cheap fan and filter at the store was like 450... I havent even researched them but it seemed like a lot. Also havent done too much research on ferts yet. Any recommendations?
