so I’m finding it odd that the buds are still crisping up further and dying even more, so I grabbed a branch and snapped it and it’s totally dry. The plant literally died before it ripened. I have no good things to say about you Fast budz. Absolute shit plants

I have the mephisto seeds planted but i expect them to die or be totally stunted.Sorry about the troubles. When's the next grow? Tag me in and I'll gladly walk you through a coco grow. Also, lots of great, experienced, growers around here that have helped me through the years. Don't give up
How the fuck does an entire plant just die? It’s literally dried. I’m pulling buds off and crumbling them because they’re dried to a fucking crisp.
I guess I’m just gonna chop it and toss it. I don’t use flower and it’s gonna be a waste of butane. No clouded trichromes, totally immature
It’s called lockout. If root conditions are too far out of whack (too high ec, wrong ph etc) the roots will literally stop uptake…. Sometimes they’ll just lockout certain nutrients (N for example)… but if it’s bad enough they will lockout entirely and eventually die from the roots up. Could also happen from root rot, but I doubt that’s what’s going on. It’s a grower induced problem, nothing to do with genetics.
It is grower induced, but it also has to do with genetics. My Mephisto plants took way harder feeding, and then they were recovered from lockout when I push the PPM’s past 1500. These fast budz plants are not very resilient.
1500 is insane… but I digress. Good luck….
After I chopped down all the bullshit fucking plant, I realize that there was a couple branches that were still growing nicely. But because I’m a fucking moron, I cut them all down before I noticed. The only place my brain belongs is on a fucking wall. Maybe the floor.

Its been years since i have done coco, but man 1500 is insane some strains can handle it, but i would be willing bet more are going to end up like this than not. I have pulled 1lb plants running 750. Just feed three times a day. The multiple feedings will also keep your PH in range a little better. When you run that high and the plant does not absorb enough of the extra....that leads to the lockout that like Frank was talking about and I believe your experiencing. Just my two cents.
