Blue Cush Day 29. She is 20 inches tall today. When I went to feed I noticed roots growing out the bottom of the pot. No issues to comment on, growing nice.
That's a bad thing that the roots are growing out of the bottom of the pot right? I was under the impression that the air pots are supposed to prune the roots as the reach the bottom so this doesn't occur. Are you leaving lots of runoff water in the saucer for them to feed on? She looks good, but I've not seen this before. Does anyone know what effect this will have?
I also noticed in the picture that you assembled your air pot with the bottom in the lowest position, in the instructions it says to go up one level of grooves and place the bottom there. I'm assuming the bottom of the pot touching the the saucer also contributed to root development.
I purposely lowered that bottom to allow more soil, but I accidently assembled it upside down and when I noticed it was already planted so I let it roll on. We'll see what happens.
