I'm using Advanced Nutrients Sensitive grow and bloom coco. What day should I switch from grow to bloom? Have 6 between days 20-25, a few have shown their sex already. Wanted to give grow nutrients as long as I can cause they're small. I have read somewhere that you should give grow nutrients for 6 weeks, is that correct? I was thinking of going 5 weeks, but if 6 is better will do that. I used ffof for 1st grow so didn't use base nutrients. Any help would be much appreciated.

Usually what will happen is that a short time after they start showing their sex, they will hit their stretch phase. They still do a lot fo growing during this, so I like to keep them on the grow nutes. When I see the stretch start slowing I'll start going with a transitional mix, then move into the bloom/flower mix.

There's a life cycle of auto flowering thread over in the new growers section that I used a lot when I started with auto's. Muddy put up, in my opinion, a really good little guide to work off of broken down with what to look for around what week: https://www.autoflower.org/threads/the-life-cycle-of-auto-flowering-cannabis.5113/

Best of luck, and happy growing!!! :smoking:

Thanks brother, I will check it out now. Seen some of his post sounds like he knows a thing or two lol. Can you explain your transitional mix? Do you do any lsting, or other training? Wanted to fim but kinda small not sure if I should did little bit of lst. Can I continue to lst during stretch? Can you give a rough estimate of how long they will stretch for? 2nd grow 1st in coco struggling a bit. Temps were low 1st 13 days think that's why there small idk we will see. Thanks again man take all the advice I can get.

Good info but another question. Are those ranges just for base grow/bloom nutrients, what about things like bud candy and rhino skin they say weeks 1-6 of flowering? Do you wait on those until you start bloom nutrients, or should you start those earlier?I know the company's want us to use more nutrients so don't trust their ranges.

In nature a plant will use up all the nitrogen in the soil and then start flowering. If you keep adding more and more Nitrogen it just keeps using it until it is all gone and forgets about flowering. The stems will be long and longer and lush green but unable to support heavy buds if they ever come. So most grow forms have high N then the bloom formulas have lower or no N. So when reading the plant ask if you want it to put on more growth or stop growing and start flowering. If not sure you are in transition and many just mix 1/2 grow with 1/2 bloom until they have made up their mind.

I've only used a couple brands of nutes so far, and both had in their feed guides a vegatative, transition, and bloom mixes. On the nutes I've used veg is typically 2 parts grow to 1 part bloom nutes, transition is equal parts both, and then bloom is 2 parts bloom and 1 part veg. I've only recently started messing with bloom boosters and other supplements so still learning when to start and stop on them, myself.

I use bloom nutes (Sensi A&B) from start to finish.. But some nute lines are different. When I was using them separate, I would start the bloom nutes when the preflowers were about the size/shape of a cotton ball.

I have seen other people say they use bloom all the way through and no grow nutrients, why is that? I know the nutrient companies what to sell me as much as they can, but why would they make them if people knew they don't do anything? Will you get better results using bloom for veg and flower? Going to use them since I bought them already, but will just get 2 bloom if it's better in the end.

The talk of using bloom all the way thorugh remided me of the "Lucas Formula". I played around with the Lucas Forumla method for a bit when I first started out and was doing DWC. Had never grown any cannabis, auto or otherwise before so liked that it was the same formula from start to finish and let me learn how the plants grow and act. Don't remember all the details, but it was basically if memory serves just using the micro and bloom nutrients in AN's three part line, with none of the grow nutes.

You'll find different reasoning for it. But my personal reason is because I strictly run autos. Which means about a whopping 2 weeks of veg time. Lol. Most autos show sex/preflower from day 17-21. From there, they are in preflower/flower mode for the rest of their pre programmed life. Photos.. Well, you veg them as long as you want to, so the grow nutes may come in handy there.. For autos its basically either 4-2-6 NPK (grow a/b) or 5-4-8 NPK (bloom a/b). They both have the same core indredients and if you only use one you can always add a simple booster for the part you didnt buy. I like the blooms ratio better and my soil will always start with enough nutrients to get the plant through its first 14-21 days of "growth". So "grow" nutes seem kinda pointless to me with autos. And yes, they also make the products just to sell to unknowing people like myself. For instance, bud candy the same thing as carboload. Same. Thing. But they will still sell you both. I fell for it and bought both. Lol. But I think the grow/bloom difference comes into play more so when photos are involved.
