Hey Folks,

This forum is amazing...so much info and very well organized for sure! I have been growing photo-period plants indoors mainly, but have dabbled with auto's and decided to grow them in the summer months...so at 44.8 latitude, I get maybe 14-16 weeks of decent growing climate.

I just wrapped up my last indoor photo grow from the winter (Sweet Seeds Black Jack), so I'm germinating the start of my summer herd, and so far 5/5 have popped their tails. I will attempt to start my first official grow journal and it looks like "AFN Grow Journals" - Outdoor section would be the right spot.

Yo hippy! The Black Jack is just in it's 2nd week of curing in the jars, the small sample toke was a bit green but strong and balanced...it was extremely dank and loaded with trichs (one plant out of three was a bit thinner and had much more red hairs). I let them go 70 days and shut the lights down for 48 hours, and had tapered nutes down so it was just water the last 10 days...When I peeked in there to cut them down, there were some light colored patches in the buds glowing in the dark, I thought...damn mold! It turned out to be some nanners popping out the last days from stress...found about 12 seeds in all that looked really good (I read they will be female but would also carry the hermie trait). Trichs got a bit more amber/red than I usually go but they held out on me then POP. So they really didn't hermie...they just stressed at the end when I went a week longer than usual...first time that has happened to me.

My grow set-up is odor free until I shut it down to take the plants out, my wife was in a panic ...they dried for 6 days in the tent, then I transferred them to the garage with doors closed, and you could smell it in our yard big time! She was hollering at me to seal them up...I would usually trim and jar them then, but I did the quickest cut I could into my 12"x16" Tupperware storage bins where they sat for another week with Boveda 62 packs. They smelled through the Tupperware some, so in a week I dove in and trimmed them up smaller and stuffed them into Mason Jars with Boveda's...still filling the garage and yard with dank...the buds are larger than usual, but I also kept them bigger not to fuss over trimming.

I vegged them for 1 month, flowered for 70 days, the 3 plants produced almost 10 oz...(I don't do super big grows). I used 5 gallon Smart pots, General Organics schedule, feed, feed, water, with full (double) the nutes...the plants loved it. They were pretty pale at 1 month old so I turned it up. I have 2 - 300w Mars Hydro LED's with a 600w Mars Hydro in the middle. My tent is 2' x 4' x 5' so I can run 2 larger plants or 3 smaller.

In other words they turned out very nice, easy to grow, anything with Black Domina will reek dank...but I would recommend for sure, Sweet seeds have worked out well for me in the past!

I grew Eva Pink Plant before and it was a pain in the arse with the TNT Kush and High Level Sativa genetics....very thick plants, short and stocky (defoliated every week like mad), burnt the leaf tips on the buds when I turned up the nutes past single dose during flower, but the Bio Bud was also added when it happened...that plant recovered well but I learned from that one about being light on nutes. Smoke was heady, and the 85% sativa showed, but smoke enough and it would ut you on the couch.

Hey GreenSkell, My very first grow since college 35 years ago (did I just age myself), was Sweet Seeds Cream Caramel Auto and Sweet Seeds S.A.D. Auto the summer of 2013...I thought I was a know-it-all and and started them too soon outdoors, and then we had a cooler wet Spring...duh. I was only book smart and impatient, and had Hempy Pots with Coco Coir (too much for first grow IMO), and used nutes.

The CC Auto was a small attempt at growing, and maybe produced 12 grams of dry bud...then I screwed up curing and caught some mold... so this was my first grain alcohol tincture, the buzz was nice and mellow. The S.A.D. Auto was going a bit better but I didn't flush the medium enough and was a little heavy on the nutes...so I burnt it some during week 5 or 6, this produced a bit more bud and it's when I realized I didn't know sh*t...but I knew after smoking it, I was a fan of indicas...especially Black Domina.
