Hello al - this is a review of HiKrop series of light from Kroptek.

First off, when looking for an LED light I wanted a light that was being used by commercial growers giving me the confidence that the company has a sole purpose and that is lighting for growing. They are also a UK company which is good for us here in the UK when it comes to support etc...

The light itself is made up of 6 modules/pieces each module is a 60w, and I have six making up the rig totalling 360w at the wall. The benefit of the lights being independent of each other means they can be moved around and set at different heights to cater for different plant sizes in the room. The rig is easy enough to put together and take apart, but cant be done whilst it is hanging.

With good CRI (Colour Rendering Index) the light colour that you see is the same as daylight (I would say closer to teh end of summer colour). When ordering direct and talking to their team they guide through what spectrums are available and so on - as such I chose 4 lights with their KP04 spectrum and 2 with their KP08 giving me extra reds and far reds.

The light has now been running for two years with very little rest at all, the heat from teh light is acceptable and the light is bright, my average harvest from a 1m x 1m x 2m tent has been about 500g be that with 3 or 4 plants, and the light only giving out 360w shows it has the output to give over 1.38gram per watt. Along with teh low total wattage the cost of running the light is low.

Spec as per my local growshop website:
  • AC100V to 277V, 50-60 HZ
  • Actual Power: 372W
  • Full Spectrum
  • Integrated CE Driver
  • IP65
  • 2.2 umol / w
  • Size: L560 x W460 x H42 mm
  • Weight: 10.4kg
  • 3 year warranty
  • CE, ROHS, UL / ETL certified

The downsides are really only twofold, firstly there is no dimmer, and secondly it is a touch bulky compared to my quantum board. But with no external drivers and all the units being connected via standard LED heavy duty lighting cable there is nothing to do other than hang it once you buy then plug it in.

Overall I am very impressed with this light, and company - great service always, and the light is strong and powerful with good spectrum allowing for decent results - there is a 3 year warranty as well which is still active but either way the light is going strong and shows no signs of anything negative as of now.

Good coverage for a 1x1 tent

The price of the unit is still on the high side at £670 GBP, but I firmly believe you get what you pay for and such this is a high quality light with very good build quality and spectrum.
