VAPORISER NAME: Arizer XQ2
TYPE OF VAPORISER (home or portable): Desktop
DRAW METHOD (whip, bag, attached mouthpiece or drawn direct from unit): Both, whip and balloon/bag
COMPATIBLE MATERIAL (herb, oil or both): Herb only
COST(feel free to add link to store): £219 GBP ($264usd) Link - this link is to their site which is where I purchased it from, but had to pay import duty upon arrival to the UK.
ACCESSORIES (have you added anything eg water cooler): Additional glass pipes and mouthpieces
QUALITY OF VAPOUR (eg thick tasty plooms to no visible vapor with plastic taste): I would suggest the clouds are very acceptable, and the flavours and terps are impressive. No burning.
AMOUNT OF TIME OWNED: Not long (but I have been vaping for over 20 years so easy to compare to others used)
PERSONAL THOUGHTS (please be frank, if the vaporizer is poor we want to know): So then, I had the first Volcano back in early 2000's, then promoted myself to the Digi about 10 years later, this time it cost was a key factor. Can it be compared to the Volcano, NO - this said it is in a very different price range. It has a very easy to use control panel and remote control which makes it easy to use, filling and cleaning is easy and quick. Time to heat up is fast, the fan is lacking the ooomph you get from the Volcano so the bags take a while to fill up.
The fact I did buy it was because (in order of importance to myself)
1 x Arizer XQ2. 1 x power adapter. (UK Plug)
1 x remote control.
2 x glass connoisseur bowl - (optimised airflow and two chamber sizes).
1 x Aroma Glass chamber.
1 x hose for direct pulling / 360° swivel function.
1 x small glass adapter for connecting the balloon to the Arizer XQ2.
1 x glass balloon mouthpiece made of borosilicate glass with glass on glass connection.
1 x balloon connector.
2 x balloon bags (as a replacement, you can use standard frying hoses).
1 x balloon closure. 1 x air intake filter (3-layer filter for dust, air particles).
1 x stainless steel tool.
1 x dome sieve.
1 x flat strainer.
1 x herb sample
On top of I also added some extras in case of breakages, such as mouthpieces and, bowls and glass adaptors.
The machine itself is very easy to use, the remote control does pretty much everything so you dont need to touch the control panel on the actual device.
There are 3 preset heat settings, the lowest being 170, going to 185 and 195, they csal also be set outside of their presets to whatever suits you, I find the 185 works just right for me, no real smoke or burn, just pure vape.
Filling the chamber is easy as it is big and there are no fiddly parts, the bowls are two of the same, one side it is big, the other is smaller, the big side can take a good .5g of ground flowers, the smaller size is too small for my liking and I have not tried it. Press the on button, and within seconds it beeps signalling it is ready, it also has a light system to show where it is:
Using the ballon, I am very happy with the vapour, it is clean and keeps its flavours which is important to me. My partner prefers to use it at 200 and that for me is teh border between smoke and vape, and she reports the same, it is not the Volcano, but it more than half the machine for less than half price.
Personally i do not like or use the whip, I much prefer bags, but to test it out it worked well, and the fact it rotates 360, makes it very easy to sit on the table and get a session going.
Finally, it has a 'Aroma' bowl, where you can put some nice smelling dry herbs in to make the place smell nice - though it was daft to begin with, but it really does work, I used some lavender from the garden and it distributed the aromas around nicely. Surprised but it is something I now use.
In my personal opinion, big clouds almost defy the object of vaping, getting the right temp is key, and I think the 3 settings work very well anywhere between 185 and 190 gives me the best result.
Overall, it is a very good sturdy well built piece of kit. In no way is it the Volcano and should not be compared - they are two very different price ranges with the Arizer coming out on top with respect to cost Vs return
Would I recommend this device to anyone? Yes for certain. If you want a decent desktop vape, with all the trimmings this is the one I would point my peers too. At teh same time, if budget was not a concern, I would still point to the Volcano
Some extras
Thanks

- It was the closest tool I could find to the Volcano - after much research this came the closest
- Convection with fan for balloons
- Weed only

- Easy to clean
- The best reviews, regularly coming in after the Volcano hybrid
