hello ladies and gents :welcome:

being a new grower and experimenting..
i put up my 2x2 tent and started a grow with coco/perlite.

hoping i can increase my yield (from soil) or at the very least i can finally decide on my preferred growing medium.

decided i should put this in the newbie journal incase i start running into problems.

-----

currently have 3 skywalkers @ DAY 9 today
- all 3 in 2gallon containers.
- 2x coco (brick)
- 1x coco loco (finished up my soil)

1 thing I don't see listed and I've seen a few try and do without... a good pH and ppm meter, calibration powders, and storage solution. And if it's a cheap pen... a second one on the shelf as a replacement for when the first goes wonky.

im still rocking with my apera ph60 - freshly calibrated

What size pots are you going to be running those skywalkers in? :pass:

they will all be in 2gallon containers
2x - coco / perlite
1x - coco loco (just finished up my soil)

update!

10/18:
- soaked brick with phed water for 1hr @5.96ph
- added perlite once dried and drained (might have put closer to 50/50 mix)
20201018_062114.jpg 20201018_062130.jpg

- while brick was soaking.. i prepared the seeds using mephisto germination guide with temps
around 75-85f (with heatpad)

10/20: (42 hrs later)
- we have tails in all 3
20201020_071019.jpg

- all 3 placed in presoaked jiffy (using distilled water)

10/21: (less than 24 hrs later)
- all 3 popped out of jiffy
- all 3 places in final container w/ recharge sprinkled inside transplant hole

- officially DAY 0!

- added 150ml of phed water on DAY 0 after placing in final container

- DAY 1: 300ml of phed water around the base of plant to help encourage root growth

- DAY 3: 500ml around the pot (1st feed)

- DAY 5: 750ml closer to the edge of the pot

- DAY 7: very first run off!

*decided to water every other day and she is now daily watering starting from DAY 7

*watering slowly to not disturb roots until they start dripping*

----

*temps hitting the sweet spot around 70f - 80f*

* still running 1 cob at the moment.. will turn the 2nd one on week 2*

--

didnt really know how i wanted to approach the feeding watering..

- read that plants can survive for atleast 1 week with just thr cotyledon!

- read were suppose to feed daily from DAY 0

- read that we were suppose to water until run off from DAY 0

- read that we were suppose to wait for root establishmeny before watering for run off..

- 20% run off everytime vs minimal..

Nice to meet your growbro also proph I was thinking the same thing and that's why I buy pre buffered

Did you buffer that coco brick?

i did not buffer with calmag or add mild nutes.. but im definitely looking into that for the next attempt!

any tip of buffering?
is it just as simple as mixing in water+calmag or water+calmag+nutes and soak for atleast 8hrs?

----

here they are from DAY 14!
- 2nd cob turned on
- skipped the daily watering for this day.. they looked droopy/over watered

coco on 6/9 lucas formula
- starting 1/4th and increasing as they get older

1/4 = 1.5ml micro / 2.25ml bloom
1/3 = 2ml micro / 3ml bloom
1/2 = 3ml / 4.5ml bloom

im also using 4ml / gallon calmag

soil is running on tangs schedule!
