New Grower 1st Grow- DP Auto Durban Posion LED Grow

Hey everyone. I have been lurking around similar sites for a while, always thinking one day I will grow me a plant. Then one night I said F it and let's just dive right in. I always have learned by doing anyways. So here I am starting my first grow, excited as all hell, and a little nervous/anxious that I will kill my plants, as I have never really grown anything before. I choose to start my grow journal here at AFN over similar sites, because y'all seem like some bad ass autoflower growing mofos. And everyone seems to be salivating from the mouth to help out newbies like me. I hope I can get some help on my journey, I promise to do my own research and formulate my own opinions on my grow, while at the same time take every suggestion/aid in and learn! Excited to start, so here we go!

Space: Small closet in my room. About 27 inches wide and 33 inches deep.
Light: Mastergrow 600 Watt LED
Medium: One 5 Gallon Smart Pot filled with 70/30 OF and Espoma Perlite & One 4 Gallon Pot filled with 70/30 Black and Gold Natural & Organic Potting soil and Black and Gold Perlite.
Nutrients: None yet, other than the nutes that were in soil. Plan on going OF Grow big and Tiger Bloom. Have read that Grow big isn't necessarily needed, but if people think I should use it too I will, as I haven't ordered the nutes yet. I also plan on using CalMg as I know it is needed for LED grows.
Strain: Growing two DP Auto Durban Poisons (was trying to pick a strain to start with and read that these were relatively easy to grow/forgiving, had good yields, and don't stink too much in flower.

For odor control I plan on doing the DIY Odor control bucket with ONA.
I have been using Tap water Phd down to 6.5
Temps been running between 77 and 81
Been struggling with RH (about 25-35%) I did add a bowl with water and a towel attached to a close hanger to try and raise rh, but it hasn't done much. I know rh will rise as my plants grow, but I wish i could have it higher for the seedling stage.

Nice little set up dude, if those DP Durban's go for it you going to have a rammed closet, got hang around to see this...subbing up.,
Is your hygrometer sat on top of your soil ? if so you may be getting a false RH reading...I had a similar thing recently with mine sat on top of my clay pebbles and I was getting lows of 20-30%...I was given the same advice and moved it, hung it about 12" off the the pot and got a true reading of 60-70%. If you don't have a humidifier spray the top of the soil and the sides of the closet with water, that will help a bit...

Hey slater. Thanks for joining. Glad to have you here, he who gives out rep. Interesting I'll try hanging it up and see what readings I get. And yea I was only planning on doing one do, but germinated 3 seeds in different methods to experiment. Then one thing lead to another and all of a sudden I was buying another pot and some more soil... The oldest was germinated in towel than directly into spoil. The younger one was germinated directly in a jiffy pot. And a third was germinated in towel then put into jiffy to sprout. The last one sprouted but suffered a lot of stress in transplant so tossed her.

I plan on topping and doing a lot of lst to try and keep them manageable/ have an even canopy. We will see. It will be an adventure!

You'll find those Durbin poisons get some very large buds on them and can be prone to mold so you want to make sure you have real good air movement going and keep a nice clean tidy grow space towards the end of flower. I probably started flushing mine too early and had a reduced yield but it still was something like 17 or 18 ounces so you're going to have some pretty heavy yielding plants there. It will probably be about a quarter or a third of my yield simply because you're in soil but you're still going to have some big plants.

Hi mate welcome to afn !!! As for lights I had them @ 30" for seedling week 1 - 3 just moved them down to 22" for the 600w and 20" for the 300w seem to be ok but if I see any sign of bleaching I will move them back up a tad happy growing bro !!!!!!!!

Maybe you can add some cfls 6500k seem to help in blue spectrum I'm just a light wh@re lol

Autogrowzs you think I will be fine with out the CFL? Trying to restrict myself from throwing too much money at this first grow.

Dam 17-18 oz is a restricted yield??? Teach me the ways! I'm just hoping to get an O from each plant. Anything more than that will be a blessing. How many plants was that yield from? And how early did you flush yours?
