Lighting AFNs live LED help thread.

I'm in the process of pricing out 2 Apollo 4 units for my new (budget concsious) indoor setup and trying to finalize the spectrum, how does it look and what changes would you make?

6pcs 660nm
4pcs 630nm
2pcs 460nm
1pcs 3000K
1pcs UV (not sure if uvb or uva, hopefully between 290-320)
1pcs IR (is this 720nm?)

I'd like to get my feet wet with a cheaper model led first, decided on 2 units to create cross beam in a 4 x 2 ft tent.

I'll confirm the spectrum for IR and UV but until than how does she look?

I'm getting a good 4'x2' coverage with a single 300 watt LED light just to give you an idea. 2 lights would be blasting them girls but good! lol!

Hi pops, yup I don't mind blasting them lol however I like the flexibility of 2 units so if I run 1 until say day 40 or until stretch has stopped than use the second or even get the second going to control stretching, than go full out to finish.

I reviewed GNs rebel spectrum and if I were to replicate it with 15 instead of 30 piece LED it would be something like

7 pcs 660
2 pcs 630
2 pcs 460
2 pcs 3000
1 pcs 720
1 pcs 290-320 (I didn't see this spectrum in their component list, but heard good things about UVB around here)

Looking for some input from the pros on the spectrum ratio

The UV was confirmed at 410, the last piece in my ratio above.

Any thoughts on the spectrums posted on post 50 or 52?

Indeed u want a 2-5% ratio of uvb thats the best for the plants. ill come from reptile keeping and had a lot of subtropical species and the lights for thoose terrariums with living plants in it had 2 or 5 % uvb bulbs. the 10% ratio u need for dessert is overload for the Plants.

"My 2 cents""My 2 cents"Seems a little light in the blue spec,maybe another 3000k.

Thanks for the input medic, I'll stick with the UV

Thanks for the input namvet, are you referring to my spectrum in post 50? Than would this spectrum from post 52 work or would you sub one lens out for 3 pcs @ 3000K and if so which one?

looks good to me bro, much the same as grow northerns spec but you will have 1 uvb and 1 less in the far red

Awesome, thanks larky, one thing I haven't mentioned was the lens degree, I was thinking 90

They'll both be in a 4x2 tent so 120 I'm thinking will be overkill, maybe 60 would be better?

I appreciate the help guys!

no problem dude  i would go with 90. the 120 would give too much of a spread and you wouldn't get enough penetration :bone:and i dont think the 60 would give you a big enough footprint. grow northern use the 120 as the primary lense then use the 90
