Lighting AFNs live LED help thread.

Thanks TaNg, I also believe there is not enough 660nm red in the above spectrum. I'm reading the LED grow book by christopher sloper.
In this book he suggests following ratios:

440-450nm Dark blue : 10%
470nm Blue : 10%
525-540nm Green : 5%
620-640nm Red : 20%
660nm Red 660 : 50%
725-740nm IR : 10%

So all mostly reds with a whopping 50% 660nm. I also know the ratio between 660nm and Ir determine the shape of the plant.
I think it might be a good idea to replace the spectrum I've got with one that has more 660. I had a lot of stretch when I used the bysen...

Guys , awesome info here I learn't a lot and I have a question as I have just put some leds in 2 x 600 from 2 x 400 HPS my space is 1.1 mtr by2 mtr at 2 mtr high ,do you think I will get enough coverage . Thanks Hecno

Will 24 Inches be to close from seedlings running 430 Acutal watts of led?

and maybe drop down to 18inches when flowering starts to pick up il be running veg nutes up until vertical growth stops i only have 53 inches vertical height

Whats optimum distances for leds from seedlings/veg/bloom?

It depends on the led and how powerful it is. I'd say 24-30 is fine in stretch and anywhere from 12-18 inches flowering. Like I said though it depends on the light. What brand are you using brother

Thanks for the reply im new to leds and Autos been growing photos for a few years now.
I have a bysen 210 running 216w actual and two mars hydro 180w ufo 110 actual.
The bysen is in the middle of the tent with the mars hydro on the corners same level but angled towards the center of tent a hair

Those are good lights. I'd say play around with those heights see which you like best.

BS 240 - Please help me fix it!

I could use some critical help with my Black star 240UV, not the newest ones, bought maybe 2 years ago or more now, not used the whole time but a good portion of it, so maybe I was due for trouble.

First I had the helf-panel problem, and read the fix on that. But somehow during disassembly (all those screws?) and a thorough cleaning the panel won't light up at all now, which is freaking me out because the BS is my main flowering light and has done fine so far.

I can verify that both drivers are OK as I was able to switch drivers and test before somehow the whole thing went to shit.

My soldering skills suck but I can try to practice. I only have a basic soldering iron and solder due to financial restrictions. I also have a basic multimeter. I will try to get some desoldering braid or a turkey baster or something like that to remove solder.

The thing is that when I check voltage or whatever the diode setting measures, there are several spots where the measurement is very different from the other diodes.

I really have no idea what I'm doing esp. Reg. Electronics, but I can follow step by step directions and at this point I either get the light working somehow, even with several jumpers, because this light has to run or I am in big trouble...

There are LED shops in town believe it or not, and they could probably diagnose and fix it for me, but I can't afford it right now and I need the light to make ends meet...you see the downward spiral this might cause.

Sorry if this is not the right place to post, but I'm desperate and ready to try your suggestions.

Thank you!
