Indoor Apartment-Friendly Strains -- Recommendations?

I have no indoor experience as yet but am getting ready for an apartment grow... I have a tent in a cupboard/closet and without the carbon filter on the whole place stinks (using jostick) including the hall outside my front door. I would not be comfortable without a cf. It really is the sensible option and as puffman says, all strains will be friendly. Like his idea about scrubbing the room too Good luck.

Auto #1 from Autoseeds was a lady which had almost no smell during flowering. was the one and only strain i growed without a Carbon Filter. Also Presidential Og from Royal Queen Seeds was a not so smelly Lady but they took it out of their stock or renamed it to Bubble Kush like they replied in a email.

Grew a Dinafem Moby Dick and a 00Seeds Chocolate Skunk in a tent in my apartment with ONA. NEVER AGAIN. Smell didn't ever leak into the hallway, but you could definitely tell when you entered. Now I have a 8" can max-fan and a 8" can-lite filter, and I still won't grow here again. Too risky.

Thanks for the feedback! I had a look at the suggested strains. I think I'll look at getting a couple carbon filters and do as suggested, have one outside the tent with the fan attachment...

I'm just bummed about dropping a couple-hundred bucks on a nice tent. The Gorilla tents look really nice though.... I like the look of the metal structuring they use. I don't want anything flimsy from ebay and risk damaging my plants or lights!! Any suggestions on pre-made tents? Or do you guys prefer the DIY method!?

Either I'll spring for a tent and some filters or I'll forget about the whole venture! Thanks for the suggestions everybody. I am kind of leaning towards not growing in the appt at this point....Unless I run into some money....Maybe my folks will let me setup shop at their place LOL....UN-LIKELY!

If you can smell it at your threshold someone can smell it down the hall. No matter what strain get a filter. You do not need a tent necessarily you can set up the carbon filter/fan just running in the closet. Usually you need a more powerful fan when scrubbing as the air needs to turn over more times.

So true.... No matter what strain your growing you're just lying to yourself if you think it doesn't smell:Sharing One:

Kind of sounds like you're from Ontario with the mandatory sentence for 6 lol

I lived in a pretty big 3 story building and trying to mask the smell never ever worked! No way i would try that again without a carbon filter and even then i would still be paranoid :no:

Forgot to add: Good bit of detective work there LOL. You got me! Now that the Liberals are in and we have a very left-looking lesbian premier, we might be in for some legislative changes LOL

Pretty screwy laws we have for now,if you're in so many blocks of a school you get time added - if you have isopropyl or other chemicals when caught they can add intent to manufacture then they also can hit you with that $5000 dollar mold test

My first grow was think different had it in a under counter fridge but till the neighbour said he could smell weed, next roynd got a 4 inch fan and filter combo and whoop no one ever knew even standing in the shed. If space is limited you could do an external filter like I used which was just ducted from grow through fan and blowing through filter, prob not the best but it worked only thing is them big fans are fairly loud even on low speed. Using a silent bathroom fan as I only have a 50w led and 70w cmh running and so far running ok and but time will tell

I'm also a closet grower and my closet's in a room with windows which I open during summer which allows a pleasant breeze into the room. My suggestion is Candy Kush by Autoseeds. This strain does have a scent, but it's a small plant with a heavy yield and finishes quickly.
