Hello all,

So glad to be posting a new thread here after not having grown anything in over a year now! I am in the process of buying all my bits and bobs to start my next grow; I have already purchased a good sized tent for my needs, but due to my lack of knowledge in LEDs, am not sure which would be the best to get.

The size of the tent is 80cm x 80cm x 160xm. I want to keep the grow cycles short and keep the plants relatively small. I want to build a scrog, and I had the idea of setting up a flood and drain table, but am unsure if this would be wise if I wanted to grow more than one strain at the time, but if it is I will just stick to the one strain.

Anyways, considering I want to grow 2 plants at the time in a flood and drain setup with a scrog with that sized tent, what would people say is the best level of power to go for with an LED? I really dont want to spend over 150, maybe 200 if its justifiable. Are these VIPAR LEDs any good? they seem quite cheap:

The seeds I have to choose from are so below, still not sure which to go for first! I was lucky enough to be nominated for the BOM last year and got these :) thank you afn!!

5 x Super Cali Haze - Auto
3 x White Sirius - Auto
7 x Taiga #2 - Auto
10 x Stone Dragon - Normal
5 x Diesel 99 - Auto

any suggestions?

Thank you all!!

PS wait till june new GN unit is out. spoke with Daniel and this thing will kick ass

it would be great to see the new GN line of lights :) its great so far no problems with it, its a great light got it at the top of my tent and its just having my plants i that led goodness. its a great light os far but i ant make a good enough judgment yet man as i havent finished with it so no clue as to how it is going to do in flower but the plants are looking great my amnesia haze is doing great lots of bud sites appearing a hint of purple looks like its gonna be a beauty. ill upload a review of the light when ive done a run with it but seeing massive improvements over the old 250w hps. overall i would recommend the lights so far from what ive experienced fast delivery and positive plants :)

Thanks for the feedback, but I decided to go with the one in my previous post. It seems fairly decent with an actual power draw of 180w. I will supplement this with a 200w cfl, and maybe a few 35w cfl side lights from my prev grow.

The guys at vipar seem very reliable in terms of customer service, and quite confident in their own product, got a nice little message when I bough it. Either way I has a return period so if am not happy will replace.

The light actually arrived today and man is it bright. I've never owned or really even seen an LED grow light up close but build seems solid.

Now just need ventilation and am good to go. Any recommendations on any of my seeds above?

taiga 2 and super cali haze man, they would be sick strains man, cause the super cali is meant to be a great yield-er and awsome smoke, would really be a test of your led see if it creates them fox tails :)

Sounds good.. i may have to follow your advice! :)

Any recommendations on grow method? I kinda wanted to do flood and drain but dont know if thats best for 2 strains. I recently purchased a big bag of coco, and what I think are 11L square pots. The plan is still to scrog them both. Would drip system be any good? or should i just stick to hand watering?

I got such unbelievable results from my DWC in my last grow I kinda wanted to stick to some sort of hydro method. Also another thing off my mind if I dont have to water 1-2 times a day.
