Actually I cure and store all of my buds in cvaults with boveda paks inserted into the lid of the cvault. Storing weed this way will keep it fresh indefinitely, just remember to use new boveda paks when needed.

What do you think? Is there an advantage using the C-vault VS Ball Glass Jars?

I prefer cvaults with boveda paks over ball mason jars, especially for long term storage (1 year or longer). The vacuum seal created by the cvault keeps the atmosphere inside the cvault at the desired 62%. Other people I know like the ball mason jars, I suppose that it's more a matter of personal preference.

Properly storing weed is an aspect of growing which I think is often overlooked. For me, nothing beats a cvault and boveda paks. 28 grams/1 oz. of weed usually fits fine in a large cvault (with 2 boveda paks). 14 grams fits into a medium sized cvault and uses one boveda pak.

it all boils down to personal preference. Both seal well. I know I can crank down a lid on a ball jar and not have to worry about air. Plus, you can buy like 3 cases of quart ball jars for the price of 1 large c-vault. It all depends on what you are willing to pay for the price of piece of mind!!

But yea. The packs are sweet. Poped a few into my jars, and the rh has been a steady 63% ever since. Dont think ill ever have to worry about replacing them though, Ill never make it a year! Hell, ill be lucky to make it a month!

I think clear mason jars are cool because they let you examine the bud whenever you want without having to open the lids and mess up the inside environment. But if you do go with jars. get legit jars with good lids, like "Ball" or something, otherwise you risk having a crappy, nonfunctional seal with 99 cent store.. well... crap.

I just harvested a little over a week ago and jarred the bud at 7 days. I have been burping as required, put a couple of boveda 62 in and my calibur 3 constantly reads 70% or more. I really don't think the hygrometer is accurate. There is really no sign of moisture in the bud, it is losing the grassy smell, seems to be curing perfectly in my newbie opinion - this is my first cure. So i took the bag with the boveda packs, but the calibur 3 in it, sealed and and it SHOULD read 62 withing 24 hours according to the boveda site. They sell a kit to calibrate hygrometers and it is a sealed bag just like my 10 pack arrived in and 1 boveda pack. So after 24 hours, I will treat what ever RH% as = 62%. I have read that hygrometers under 70% rh can be inaccurate. We shall see. So I just wanted to pop in with another use for the Boveda pack!

After 24 hours in with the boveda packs...hydrometer reading was 67. Conclusion is the reading is 5 points off! Just what I thought. Good to know!

That is good to know ... I would mark that hygrometer w/ an 'X' or something ... remember 55% is the rh that we have to avoid letting the weed drop below ... now that you know your Hygrometer how's the rh of the buds ... ?
