Hello Grow folks, So its been a while since ive did a press and finally have fresh flower
wanted to make sure if im doing it correctly ?
I use this formula from Dabpress

and still not sure if im doing it the best ?
when it comes to puck surface area , I measure the size of the puck/bag when after filled/ready , not the size of the bag originally, because I cut it down plenty
so after trimming the filled bag its usually like 1.5" by 1.5" so that is 2.25 x 1000 =2,250 now divided by 2.75(12ton) =818.18
is this correct ? or even close maybe ?

months ago I was getting good at this it seemed but ran out of flower
so its been a while and when I just pressed some it wasn't a good return at all 6grams ,got .36 return with the exact numbers above, dont seem right but maybe just this weed?
anyway I wonder if im using the right formula and correctly ?anyone?

I don’t have my spreadsheet in front of me to know but if your using 2” bags packed bottletek style 800psi on the gauge should be around 900 material PSI

Yeah, I still get confused with this, So the bags im using are 2"x4" Press club , but im measuring the bag after filled packed and ready to be pressed which is usually 1.5"x 1.5" but I guess really its more like 2"x 2" , which puts it @ 4000 divided by the 2.75= would be 1450
I think before I figured 2'x 1.5" ,,3000 divided by 2.75=1100 this is what I was at before and seemed to work ok
I guess last night my pressure wasn't enough

But my main concern is = do I use the size/measurement of the bag as a whole ?
I trim them down as little as possible and once it's filled/packed ,that's what im measuring. again its usually like 2"x1.5"=3"

thanks for any help, I guess ill figure it out eventually ,the best pressure I mean.
also seems when I try to press more then 1 bag ,I get worse results ??
so I just press one at a time and small usually 5-7 grams
im sure Im making it MORE confusing or hard on myself , sorry im a Dumbass !!

anyway ill try again later
THANKS !!!!

Lot to soak in there the only dimensions your worried about is diameter of puck I believe it’s once pressed down. You only need the surface area you are pressing on. If my notes are correct a 2” bag is 2.4 surface area diameter of 1.75 I found this stuff online but don’t remember where

What gets worse? It shouldn't be any different bedsides it doubling. It should be twice amount of gauge press to get that same material pressure for two bags. I like pressing two bags better cause there seems to be less chance for blowouts. But I can’t really do two 3” bags on my plates otherwise it overflows and makes a mess. So I’d have to use smaller bags and twice as many which means more packing of bags which is monotonous. I put 18 grams ish in a 3” wide bag height doesn’t matter

im sure Im making it MORE confusing or hard on myself , sorry im a Dumbass !!

anyway ill try again late

No worries it still doesn’t always make sense to me either hence why I have a spreadsheet I always look at to know what I’m pressing to
