Now for something completely different. The Benny Goodman Sextext with Charlie Christian on guitar and Lionel Hampton on vibes. Electric guitars had only been around for less than 10 years and were mostly used as a rhythm instrument. Christian invented modern electric guitar jazz and his recordings still sound fresh almost 80 years later. The interplay between Goodman, Hampton and Christian is wonderful and their recordings still influence to this day.
