Hi,

I've got lots of sachets of nutrients for 'cut-flowers', the kind of things that come free with flowers when you buy them. I was just wondering if people think it will do for growing weed at any stage.

There isn't anything online that talks about this, and my other option is buying nutes, which look very expensive, around £40 for a bottle, which is too expensive and I don't need a gallon :(

Thanks :D

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe those packets aren't really nutrients, just things to keep the flowers fresh. An aspirin will do the same thing for cut flowers. If money is tight, check out orchid nutrients. They are very close to what weed needs are far as their nutrient requirements. Here in the US you can get the Better Gro line, veg and bloom, for under $20 for both. Things like Fox Farms and General Organics sell in quarts for around $15 a bottle.

Sorry for the late responce, I didn't see the replies on my notifs so I assumed no one had seen it :o

@gradolabs That stuff looks good, couldn't find any in UK online though :(
@Muddy Yeah I have a feeling they aren't nutrients either :(

I'm seeing that most advised nutrients for weed are for orchids/tomatos. Which ratios of nutes does cannabis need for blooming? I'm wondering if I can substitute professionally mixed nutes with eggshells and other organics. I'm going to skip growing nutes because tbh large plants will be a pain in a city garden :/

^ Sorry about no structure in that paragraph, its late :coffee:

Thanks :)

Depending on what kind of soil you use some veg nutes may still be required. If you use a soil less type mix, basically peat and perlite, they don't contain much and with at least some, your plants may suffer. Veg nutes should have more N, something like an 8-4-4. For flowering you need more P and K, so something like a 4-8-8. There are some good soil recipes in the Organics section. A good mix will require little, if any supplemental nutrients.
