Other species can be real easy. Stones are 'set it and forget it'; you PC your grains, you innoc the jars/bags, and you forget about it for a couple months. They can suck to eat when they're dried, feeling both rock hard and chewy, and if you're not careful you'll have them in your teeth the entire night, but they're so simple it's worth dealing with IMO. Pan Cyans are easy to grow, but it would be easier with a couple more Cube grows under your belt. They mycelium will look different (like contaminated Cube mycelium), and they need much more fresh air. Getting sterile technique and fresh air exchanges are absolutely necessary for Pans, but they're totally worth it IMO.
Before I forget, while I'm here let me pass along a warning I give to every friend who has grown mushrooms. Be careful with your dosing. Every single mushroom grower I've ever known in person has had to learn this the hard way. You'll soon have more mushrooms than you've probably ever seen before, with this experience under your belt you'll have more faith in your technique and know how easy it is to have a shit-ton of mushrooms... You will dose more than you probably ever have before. I did it, every friend I've had who has grown has done it, and every music festival in the world is full of people who really did it. I remember adding freshies (freshly harvested mushrooms, not dried) to my coffee pot in the morning, I always carried mushrooms on me so I could dose to varying degrees wherever I went, and I was still dosing at least once a week for well over a year (sometimes 3x a week, with other psychedelics thrown in to prevent dud trips from tolerance). I'm not going to lie, it was awesome. And other people start recognizing you as a tripper, whether you advertise the fact or not, so tripping just gets easier and easier as time goes on.
But if you're not careful,
magical thinking is a real possibility. This has happened to almost every single person I know who came into a good and easy supply on their own, including me. As a natural skeptic who is usually pretty even keel, this was how I knew it was time to back off. Extreme mania is less common, but I've still seen it a bunch over the years. I'm not trying to piss in your Cheerios or anything, and I'm definitely not telling you to have a blast. And I still grow and trip now, many years after it happened to me. I'm just giving you a heads up. Have an absolute blast, just remember that psychedelics can have real consequences if taken too far. I'd just hate to see another psychedelic casualty mushroom mystic, the world has entirely too many of those already.
