i have Deep Blue C and Sour Livers inbound for a first small grow! I am still debating soil vs coco vs something else and am open to suggestions ( I already have some small bottles of some Roots Organic nutes as well).

I'd reccomend soil unless you already have good ph and EC meters. And you should still probably have an Accurate 8 ph meter for in-pot ph, mine has turned out to be invaluable.

Any soil or ph meter recommendations? I know the cheap ones on Amazon are not worth the trouble.

Waira recommends the accurate 8 to me. I just got a new blue lab one in an hour ago. I suffer from severe OCD and already have 3 blue lab meters so I needed the matching soil one lol. It looks exactly the same minus the stake for pressing the soil.

For ph I use the Blue Lab pen and the Oakton Ecotester ph 2, which I like a lot. For soil etc I use the Blue Lab soil meter.

Welcome my friend, if I were you, I would keep it simple and go soil, no ph pen, whatever nutes you have and learn a load on the way. As you progress you can spend more, try new techniques, see what works for you and what does not.

This is just my humble opinion, but I always think it better to start easy and see where it takes you. If this is your first grow, DWC is a lot to take on. Not saying it can't be done..............whatever you choose .....enjoy ........eP.

ive got 2 of said impliments mate. ppm/ec and ph meter. 12quid each and still sound as a pound after 108days. both get checked regularly and never had any problems or had to recalibrate them : )
