Sorry, didn't have time this a.m. to properly welcome you to AFN and the New Growers forum. You want to keep your soil pH in the 6.3 - 6.5 range. Normally when you add the nutrients it will cause the pH to drop. If so, that's what the pH Up is for. Add a couple drops and test again. It's very potent so only use a little at a time. If the pH is above that range, then use the pH Down to lower it. EC readings are more for hydro growing. In soil, start with 1/4 the recommended strength and slowly increase it, all the while watching your plants to see how they respond.
Not familiar with Plant Magic soil. What does it consist of and any slow release nutrients in it?
