Hey yall. Quick question with regards to drying and curing.dried my buds for 7 days..they felt dry to touch on outside but still moist inside..had em hanging on clothes lines inside a cardboard box .I had hygrometer inside box and it was at 63% at room temp.my question is the smell seems to have faded drastically and don't seem as sticky as they wer...will that at sort itself out in the jars...there in jars now as we speak..hygrometer is too large to fit into jar tho...I'd hate to be smoking a bail of hay ...tia

So it's the norm ..cause I won't lie my house has been honkin for the last week...(had to keep it down stairs as it was too cold in the attic.)and I'm a little disappointed with how there smelling at the moment...

It's normal least from what I've observed. The other thing is the buds feel less sticky but you'll find a lot more rosin deposited on the inside of your jars. So just cuz it doesn't feel sticky doesn't mean it's not there it's just changing the state as it dries out. I like to use one gallon jars and I can scrape quite a bit of rosin out of those by the time I get down to the bottom.

Hey man..just another quick question for the experienced mind...is it Normal for my buds to have gotten more moist in the jars..kinda soggy to touch..shud they have been dryer goin into jars ..do i need to take out again before I rot the lot..tia

I got a good answer to this a while back as I've had some great pungent weed, and some crap weed, all great healthy plants but differing results.

Do not put them in jars until they're 60% moisture

If you turn your jars upside down and the buds stick to the sides/together it's still too moist.

After drying completely they won't smell of much at all, but don't cry, stick them in the jars and seal them up.

If it's at 60% moisture you don't need to fuck around burping and monitoring for mound.

After two weeks the smell will be coming back, after a month it should be pungent dank weed.

This all depends of course on you not harvesting too early and of course the strain.

I was sticking them in jars moist and burping etc, this slows down the bacterial process which rids your bud of chlorophyll. It needs to be sealed and put away. Dry.

I was pulling my hair out over this, growing the weed was becoming easier than smoking it lol.

It's important not to dry to 50% and below otherwise you may lose the smell altogether.

@pop22 is the man when it comes to drying and curing.

Wild man,

it is all natural and par for the course. If it was any different, you would have done something wrong. You have not.

Take the great advice you have been given. They know their stuff. I also found that this was the most worrying time of my first grow. Just take your time, give it a good cure and it will be 10/10. Honest guv.

eP.

Lads .can't thank you enough for your input. .I'm a friggn nervous wreck trying to mind it ..gona put it into a larger container temp so I can stick my hygrometer in with it .just for piece of mind...so I'm looking for 60% or under and If above dry more...tbh buds ain't sticking to the glass or each other when I gently shake after first opening for burp...thanks again lads...
